I loved all the endings. I think I understand (a bit) the happy ending wishes but those actual endings are so cool. I wished we had more impact on the world before we die tho. Like a hero who saved everyone but himself, would have been dope for me.
Others would call it edge-lord writing that forces emotions in a cheap and overused way in most kind of media. But especially Video games.Wow, so many disappointed people... I was in tears when I got to the end, but I agree with CDPR's vision that Night City can't be beat (no one did) and it ends perfectly. It's the future, and a happy ending isn't for everyone, especially for those trying to become legends. They repeatedly said that they want to create ART, not just games and this is what they delivered - Deep, sad and poetic experience.

Wish i had a choice for that first buddy. None of the endings are close to poetic, just because they are edgy, they aint poetic.Wow, so many disappointed people... I wasn't presented the option for neither in my game. Also they said I can't save the world but I can save myself. Apparently can't do that either.Wow, so many disappointed people... most players would agree with this if the main character was not hysterical about survivalI loved all the endings. Yes yes and yes it needs a ghost in the shell style ending so badlyIronically, the game is missing the one profoundly obvious ending choice that often defines cyberpunk as a genre.
It is missing the Ghost In the Shell (original) movie ending - the classic outcome where V and Johnny's consciousnesses merge into a new combined being that is simultaneously neither and both of them.
I mean - I agree it's ALSO missing a happy ending where V manages to eradicate Johnny and live a full happy life afterwards, but more importantly its missing the merge/evolution ending that is usually the staple of cyberpunk. Such endings are the logical conclusion or punchline to the genre, fulfilling the post-human potential of 'digital souls'. I'm staggered that the writing team didn't include this ending, it's so obvious as a story branch I have no idea how they missed it.
To be honest, it kinda makes me wonder how much they even understand the cyberpunk genre or what gives it artistic significance.
isn't for ANYBODY. They decided that their artistic vision superseded player agency in an RPG that advertised meaningful player choices. It's the future, and a happy ending isn't for everyone,
But they can create art. But they also need to find a group that want this kind of art.Wow, so many disappointed people... I still maintain there should be 3 basic principles for the endings.Yes yes and yes it needs a ghost in the shell style ending so badly
Honestly, V is considered a top-tier mercenary after a heist and is already worth his own drink in Afterlife (Jackie has one, but to get one you need one last thing - you have to be dead)I wasn't presented the option for neither in my game. Also they said I can't save the world but I can save myself. Apparently can't do that either.
Tbh I didn't even care for a happy ending. if CDPR wanted to tell a story about futility, then at least they could have offered me a proper closure in the end. But in the end I just felt betrayed and bitter... not something that I wanna experience again in the game.Honestly, V is considered a top-tier mercenary after a heist and is already worth his own drink in Afterlife (Jackie has one, but to get one you need one last thing - you have to be dead)
I also understand the point of view of everyone here and agree that there should also be a happy ending.
yeah, it's a lukewarm soap opera tragedy that's been stamped onto all endings. Like they had no confidence that the endings they'd crafted had any merit. All endings are really, really similar. That makes them bland af. Why not make all endings different, so it would give you different emotions, strenghtening them.

Actually it makes it even better for my tastes. I think the endings aren't what is to be modified in this game, it's what comes before. Like what you do before, your choices, would "force" you to get one of those endings, it woud have been better imo. Also more quality content (obv), so you get more attached to the world etc. I realy think this game could have been a masterpiece.most players would agree with this if the main character was not hysterical about survival
hints of the ending began with the first words of the launch trailer, but the game does not lead to this so clearly
This quote would make sense if there actually would be a choice about it. As it turns out there isn't. My V has more money than she can spend, drives the most expensive and most exclusive cars in the world, has the best gear and takes down even the hardiest combatants like they are nothing more than trash. So where is my choice to just be content with that?"Would you rather live in peace as Mr. Nobody... or go down for all times in a blaze of glory?" ~ Dexter DeShawn
I was attached to V and the world plenty already. That is why I was so upset about my ending.Actually it makes it even better for my tastes.
