It doesn't matter what I believe. All that matters is the authors' intent and what they put in the game. I do admit it irritates me when people lie about the contents of the game and pretend it's true.
As a matter of fact, it matters, since you keep exposing your own view about the endings and bend the narraive to support them. I do not know what the author(s) want to say. I'm not sure they know themselves, considering the shape of what they delivered...

Yep. It is like the Witcher-verse.

That doesn't mean that you aren't scum if you work for Nilfgaard.

Your only option is to be a rogue like Geralt or an Edgerunner like V. Hell, even Johnny the terrorist.

What was that quote?

“Evil is Evil. Lesser, greater, middling… Makes no difference. The degree is arbitary. The definition’s blurred. If I’m to choose between one evil and another… I’d rather not choose at all.”
Quote which never helped geralt. Even irl sometimes youre forced to choose when there are no options

This is true and partially why I think my V humored Goro. They were totally different people but you make your bed.

It's also why I liked Regina Jones.

Regina is a Fixer waging war on the corporations and gangs but she does so by allying with them and using them against one another.

except Sapkowski spent like 6 books trying to show that Nilfgaard is just the same as everyone else, fights for what they think is right and consists of good people as well as bad. or, even, that any concept of good and bad is just redundant.

I mean if a person who started writing them as literal nazis because of what his country went through ultimately made a lot of them, including Emhyr, the evil emperor himself, sympathetic and humane, maybe you too can stop viewing the world in such extremes.

Regina Jones, who basically shot Skippy in the head?

"I know you are but what am I?" Is not a good arguing tactic. The game shows Panam and company saying they'll find a cure, the Tarot shows it, and the game endings are shown as uplifting with uplifting presentation. You can say this is stupid and reject them--I encourage you to--but please stop acting like the authors intent is different than V living.

Just remeber that good guys are those who write the history :)

can we just leave the history for the history books and classes? It’s driving me mad when I hear in the news about who is mad about what about WW2 and I’m completely sure that in 2077 they care for WW2 as much as we care about Napoleon wars.

That's your interpretation of Nilfgaard? No, Sapkowski showed them as abolutely vile. It's just that the North wasn't much better.

It's not Gray vs. Gray morality if both are irredeemable.

It's Black vs. Black.

There's a difference.

I also strongly believe CDPR fucked up Nilfgaard's portrayal.

Emhyr still murdered his wife, invaded his wife's homeland, and planned to rape his daughter. He also crushed and murdered thousands in his conquests as well as supported terrorism with both mages as well as the Scoiatael. Because he couldn't go through with the rape doesn't mean he's still not a monster.

It just means he's not one dimensional.

If the author wanted V to live, they would not have ripped the lore apart write the plot-cancer into the epilogue.
Epilogue are not the place for World changing events. It's a place to look back on the story and draw conclusions.

After my last playthrough i found out that goro is exactly what he himself said a dog. Dude cursed me for not avenging his dead daddy.
Though reginas effort are just farting in the wind, only yarinobu managed to actually make diffrence

Okay so... that very quote would only work in this context if there would be a 3rd way. But since there isn't, you either choose a terrorists path, or (according to you) a Nazi path. Which btw still makes me chuckle you think that's a legit comparison.

Yes, you can argue it's bad writing. I have a huge number of problems with the ending.

It's just this nonsense of "V always dies" bullshit that prevents us from actually discussing the merits of the endings.

To be fair, Regina saves a lot of lives potentially.

It's just only you potentially seriously injure Arasaka as a whole.

I also wish we had the chance to side with Yorinobu.

Foltest fucked his sister and murdered hundreds and thousands of elfs. In addition, his men pillaged, raped and killed civilians, who were not able to flee fast enough.

He used the same tactics emhyr used.

Yeap Tarot are the highes instance in this world because they are Tarot cards that was shown by some con artist in the game. They must mean something unlike the Goro, Hellman, Vic, Hanako, Alt.

Misty is right and Gary the Prophet.
Isn’t it a coincident that both are so close to each other?
It must mean something.
And Garry wears the Sam ring as a mr blue eye and paralez.
And he is standing next to Misty shop.

I mentioned that was one of the weird damn things about CPR. They lionized Foltest and Temeria when they are the WORST of the North and its kings. It was Foltest who betrayed Cintra after all.

Ditto for ignoring Cintra, whitewashing Nilfgaard, and acting like Emhyr didn't plan to rape his daughter for decades.

Yes, they do. Because they're meant to mean something in the world. They wouldn't be in the game if not for the fact that they mean something.

I think it's more along the lines of what makes a player happy about a game's ending rather than it being a 'in your face' happy ending. I'm certainly not asking to turn Night City into Disney Land, but man. With all the science fiction stuff this gam provides, I really don't see why an ending with a positive outlook is impractical. We've got all this wacko science stuff from nanite treatments to binding minds, and this game can't make players work towards a solution where things can work out?

It's a game. Let us win!

What are we talking about?

Basically the idea that V, Jackie, and Regina Jones are heroic in any way versus just being street scum out for themselves.

Some people argue Arasaka are evil. Others argue that Arasaka is no more evil than anyone else in the setting.
