Length doesn't equal quality. Better to have a contained well-written experience.
But I liked Skyrim, I admit.
Length means that the world universe is enrapturing. That you do not simply follow a quest, but also that you explore the map, looking for everything, or simply walk the gorgeous landscape. Also, it means that the game can be replayed many times, for another gameplay or character build or another story arc, or to try different things.
Game should not be the straightforward experience CDPR deliver with CP 2077.

Okay in the ending with nomad just Female V with Judy and Male V with Panam has a "happy ending" and can stay the remaining 6 months in case you don't find a cure to spend with your Romance.
Male V with Kerry and Female V with River never have a "happy ending".
You make endings where your sexual option makes you have or not an ending with your romance is something very bad.
I saw on youtube what the ending is like with the 4 romances on youtube.
This is one more reason for me to think that they need to continue the story, why you put romances and straight women and gay men can't have a happy romance is something really bad.
From one point, you're right. From the other, River and Kerry have reasons to stay in NC — family and career. Grown men rarely dump such things for a romance they've met just a weeks ago).
Panam and Judy, from the other hand, have every reason to hate NC and leave it for good.

And what else could he do? Become an edgerunner and fight the power? Alas, he's not a teen and has a family.

If cyberpunk as a genre was about sad endings it would never goes beyond tiny circle of edge lords.

CP was about overcoming the world by looking for your own why out or as the author of Cyberpunk puts it was never about saving a world but about saving yourself.

MQ of this game ends with the conclusion that V is going to die no matter what a/he will do.

And the plot of any upcoming DLC can be discussed once they will be released.

Do what he actually wanted to do? Become a detective and find all the missing people in NC, that the NCPD don't care about, because they have no money to offer. Instead of this, he suddenly became an arms dealer. I was quite surprised, too.

Yes, Kerry and River have reasons to stay and that's the problem. why did they do it this way? Why only Male V with Panam and Female V with Judy can have a "happy ending" going to Arizona and the romance with Kerry and River has to be doomed this way.

Even with Corpo ending and Jonnhy/rogue endings saul says that V is a Aldecado and that the doors to V will always be open, which makes it almost clear that in the 3 endings that V has 6 months he can still go to Arizona and have a "happy ending" with Panam.

I will closely monitor the games progress and the dlc/expansion content. If there is something interesting coming that does not break the games logic even more and adds a logical ending, I might give it another shot.

If they continue waking this road just because it is en vogue now to forcefully end games on the darkest possible and most nihilistic way, it will not be worth my time anymore.

If I want to read about nihilism, I would read Nietzsche but certainly not play a game that has problems with coherent writing.

One thing we want is just to have MEANINGFULL OPTIONS. Not only grimdark, sad endings where you are doomed, and not only happy endings where bunnies hopping around you in the sunshine. RPG is about to play the role, choices and outcomes. We've got here only "dark" and "grey" endings no matter what choices we made in game. We don't want to force anybody to play as we want to play, and don't want to be forced for one specific outcome. The game is officially stated as "RPG in open world of possibilities" on their page but we've got a emotional rollercoaster like this we can do with Johny in Pacifica. We are pushed into a cart and have to follow the rail's. Even if there are some other rails the final station is the same one.

Mind you if any ending is objectively better, it becomes the default one. No one chooses the bittersweet ending.

I bet it will be side stories not addressing the endings whatsoever. Steam and Gog statistics clearly show that people do not complain about the endings just because they drop the game long before them)

I would say shorter and shallower. Completelly agree on shallow part tough.

This is disproven by dragon age origins.

In addition, a "better" ending should be locked behind increases player agency.

Andromeda, Inquisition, and the AC games are basically my examples.

DA: Inquisition and Andromeda destroyed great games by making massive amounts of pointless busy work to replace scripted quests.

Games are now longer and shittier than ever.

The problem is that people are caring more about their virtual love interests than about ending the game.

I think this is pretty telling. They don't want the game to end.

Right, that's why i liked W3 endings. No good, no bad, just equal trade-offs.

Interestingly, I have far more fun playing assassin's creed odyssey than playing cyberpunk.
From both a story and gameplay standpoint.
That is actually pretty alarming.

Private detective, you mean. And one can't simply walk and get this job.

For me, Odyssey was just a bad Witcher 3 copy. I don't really want to spend all this time traveling across a map doing busy work versus actual story.

Dozens of assassination targets and all of them as shallow as a puddle in characterization.

But you do you.

I admit I liked Origins, though. it was just a moment with Odyssey where I went, "I am not having fun."

I guess that is what we expected.

I get the feeling they only aded the plot-cancer, because they thought the endings were too good.
Well. Only one ending is not total shit, if you are a female, lesbian character, who can leave the city with her love interest and Panam.

Yeah pretty large demographic I suppose.
