Silent protagonists can work ar well. I loved all my wardens in dragon age.I think the amazing voiceover plays a big part, too. I have never got as invested in "silent protagonists" as I do with fully-voiced ones, they just don't cut as deep.
I totally agree with it being subjective. No one opinion is wrong. Our own personalities/teaching/experience will make us lean certain ways and that's fine. That's subjective, I was able to build a connection to V more than any other RPG protagonist of the last few years. I found her plenty sympathetic, lots of players cared about their V more than any NPC. That's one of the reasons I want to continue her story, outside of replayability issues and the fact that there are lore friendly options for a cure in the game.
I'm not. It's merely a response to another posters comment who mentioned our lack of choice of Vs character in the story. And please don't start a discussion on what roleplaying is and what not. You are roleplaying V within certein borders of a story. V is like Adam Jenson or commander Shepard.
and why only them? F***ed up crap!
I've said it before, the whole 3rd act would work better if we could make separate decisions: with whom go to Arasaka and with whom stay or leave Night City. technically after you do nomad's quests they invite you to go with them straight away. there is no need for them to go with you to Arasaka, just like there is no need for you to stay with them afterwards. One more thing just came to my mind. Why do you stay with with those nomads, when you romance Judy. I mean sure you join them when you ask Panam for help, but aren´t given the chance to say " erm, sorry but nomad lifestyle isn´t for me". And why do you need to stay in NC in that space ending, when you know she wants to leave and even breaks up due to it. Why can´t you just take Judy to a ride to Oregon, where she said her grandparents live and she visits them regularly anyway. Again I´m left to think, that about the romances, they only cared about Panam!![]()
That's where the problem is, it doesn't make sense and it's not fair.and why only them? F***ed up crap!
Maybe they wanted to send a message that "Life isn't fair". Right? Right? That's where the problem is, it doesn't make sense and it's not fair.
I'm team Panam, myself, but I do feel like every other romance option really got the short end of the stick. I sincerely hope they get more love and attention down the road.and why only them? F***ed up crap!
you are right, of course. it's purely a question of preferences and experience. I'm pretty sure I'm just an auditory learner through and through, so hearing things is much more comfortable for me than say reading or watching.Silent protagonists can work ar well. I loved all my wardens in dragon age.
There's a lot that doesn't make sense. Like V's engram cant be put into another body because he doesn't have any offspring which is needed due to DNA.That's where the problem is, it doesn't make sense and it's not fair.
I thought Meredith was a full LI and waited for her to show up anytime later in the gameStout is the only romance any V needs.
The endings are so railroaded because they follow the lifepaths 1:1. Panam -> Nomad, Arasaka -> Corpo, Legend -> Streetkid. I guess if you mix and match them they lose that symbolism.I've said it before, the whole 3rd act would work better if we could make separate decisions: with whom go to Arasaka and with whom stay or leave Night City. technically after you do nomad's quests they invite you to go with them straight away. there is no need for them to go with you to Arasaka, just like there is no need for you to stay with them afterwards.
it's just yet another instance of unnecessary railroading which makes zero sense and takes away what little agency we have in the end.
Johnny's biochip is a prototype and was specifically designed to take over the host after death. Now the question is, we have the blueprints and the engineers, why can't that condition be recreated for V? Too expensive? Arasaka doesn't care that much? There's a lot that doesn't make sense. Yet Johnny's engram takes over V's body in a few weeks.
So is V Johnny's son?
Or is Johnny's Bio-chip so advanced it can take over any body?
Was this explained somewhere?
Yeah, but in the Legend ending when you romanced Judy you could still leave. I mean you´re legend anyway and now you can have that peaceful life with her in Oregon.I thought Meredith was a full LI and waited for her to show up anytime later in the game

It is easier for them to take Judy to Arizona in a continuation and you can visit her there.Yeah, but in the Legend ending when you romanced Judy you could still leave. I mean you´re legend anyway and now you can have that peaceful life with her in Oregon.
as long as i can still have that relationship continue, it doesn´t matter where it is. Just said that Oregon would make sense, because she has family there. It is easier for them to take Judy to Arizona in a continuation and you can visit her there.
From a "V chooses what to do" pov I completely agree. Just meant that the writers probably didn't allow it as a choice because of the lifepath symbolism. Or because the story was meant to continue past Act 3 and then was cut, still can't rule that out.Yeah, but in the Legend ending when you romanced Judy you could still leave. I mean you´re legend anyway and now you can have that peaceful life with her in Oregon.
but they all are available for everyone, so any kind of symbolism is wasted. in the end, I have a corpo who chooses to go with her new-found family and a lover only to then cringe over her good friend telling her to go fuck herself before committing seppuku. there is no narrative reason for a character like that not to go to Arasaka to help Takemura, only to then get a lobotomy, refuse to be uploaded and go back to Earth to live out the 6 months in peace with people they love - because, again, there is no indication that nomads won't take V in if they don't go to Arasaka together, V's already earned their place in the family by doing side missions. The endings are so railroaded because they follow the lifepaths 1:1. Panam -> Nomad, Arasaka -> Corpo, Legend -> Streetkid. I guess if you mix and match them they lose that symbolism.
Seems like the most logical reason.why can't that condition be recreated for V? Too expensive? Arasaka doesn't care that much?
