Getting anything than possibly cyberware in the game for money is pointless. Anyway I havn't done like half of the side quests, havn't played the game for more than 2 weeks now, think I'm done with it. See no point in playing it. After seeing that GTA:SA is frankly a better game by almost every point, made me take of my glossy shades.

If this would have been released by Bethesda as some Fallout title, or some other company, this game would have crashed and burned upon release, just like 76 was. Only saving grace for it is the setting in which game takes, but that is about it, there is nothing really much else there well and graphics I guess, if you can run it. Far Cry 3-5 has superior gameplay (funny enough has completely different endings), RDR2 has way better story (if you look from the big picture).

Yes, many characters have top notch voice acting, especially V, yet many people don't really care about it.

Let me fix the mikoshi ending(s) for you:

V and Johnny join inside the matrix and have a discussion about life in the matrix and being an engram.

Alt swoops in (after the discussion) and tells us that she can separate most of our thoughts and personality but due to the work the nanites have already done, traces of Johnny will remain in V and vice versa. This is something that can not be corrected, because the brain was changed and the original V stopped to exist the moment the chip started working. (coherent with the lore and function of the biochip and the soulkiller).

V now gets sent back to the body after saying her goodbyes to Johnny.

V is not V anymore, because V changed over the course of the game - in many ways.

V now is an outcast leaves with the aldecaldos or becomes the new patron of the afterlife after rogues death, pulling the strings from behind.

In both cases, they have to be on the run from arasaka, who wants to see them dead.


Fixed in under 15 minutes.

Johnny, played by Keanu, was outperformed by V and other characters - both acting wise and story wise.
Yet the first one is a focal point of the story and the main characters and the rest that really shines is being written off like crazy left and right.

I especially agree in Vs case.
since I've only played as female V I at least can say that Cherami Leighs work is stellar and is also the reason why V feels so much like her own character. I hope that it's the same case with Gavin Dreas voicing male V?

I'm starting to have another gripe with the game, the dying to loading a save file style. It is bad, really bad decision. We took a bullet to the head but survived, yet some gang members shoots us up and we die? Man that is lazy. They could have made it soo much better.

Example, if you die to the gang members there is high chance they will steal some of your stuff, and you wake up in the hospital (should have set percentage) and even have low percentage after you lost a firefight you get taken by scavs and have some different ways/events on how to escape.

Police could put you in jail.

Arasaka could just throw you out or leave you where you are, since you are trash to them anyways. Same as militech. Could take control of you for some time, so you would do some random rich people assassinations, something like gigs till you break free from control.

But them, you could get those safety cards, like platinum, gold, silver, you know the ones that you encounter in the first mission of the game when saving that chick.

Depending on the card, the % of you getting saved without loosing items would increase and you would wake up in some special hospital.

That would not break the immersion and make you think more before engaging, because now the game is so easy.

The problem with the philosophical conceit of SOMA that it's "not really you" is the fact that the duplicate has every right to be considered the original.

Nope, a copy of your consciousness and willpower.
And the copy is never the original just because the original die, or else it would still be the original even if the original lived.

Beside, as it's a copy, and not a transfer (because stored data transfer is impossible, you can only move the storage), nothing prevent making many copies of someone, that would all make them "THE" original? That's nonsense.

If you get back in time for a fraction of second and kill the "you" from that time, you would still be a murderer, you would not just become the "you" from that time.

So yes, engram can be people, I have no problem with that, but they are not the same people as the original they were copied from.

Don't forget, we are the minority here. Not everyone is sick and tired of the kind of gaming/storytelling that has become pandemic over the last 15 years. Others will learn that eventually too. And then they will be in the same positions we are. Unheard and ignored.

Narrative wise it would ofcourse make sense. But gameplay wise it would not.
And thats a simple gaming rule.

As long as they say something. Either they gonna do something or not. But if not, I think most of us here would dump the game, which is sad due to its huge potential.
