Actually if I can re-write the ending I will find a way to halt the advance of my neural degeneration, have my mind segmented so that Johnny can live on within me without killing me. We can share women and bomb the occasional Arasaka. That way the story and legend lives on... More DLCs and sequels...
Aka the original Bladerunner after the studio had a hissy fit and inserted a happy ending. :-D

The star, because it's the only one where Valerie leaves with Judy and has a chance at long-term survival.

I could also write paragraphs on how much I enjoyed the mission and why, but I don't have hours, heh ':/[/url]

The Secret/Temperance.

In fact it's, as some previously said, the only way not to sacrifice other people.
In my point of view, V can't stand anymore loss because of her. Losing Jackie was too much for her and she didn't want to feel it again and worse feeling guilty to inflict this to the people who cares for her.

The only thing that disappoint me is the lack of choices.
You can't let people know what you intended to do and have a message for them.

So it add frustration to the sadness... ;)

But it's still more true to the idea I have of V and what she finds most important.

Any ending with Panam is dead last. I can't spend my life with someone that has Borderline Personality disorder.

I agree with your POV but cannot under any circumstances say it's the best ending as going in to not risk anyone else's life on what should be a near suicide mission - then having your motivation railroaded to did it for glory and all the post mission decisions that other V makes totally ruins it.

But best didn't mean the happiest one.
It's a sad story anyhow, so you have to choose how you handle it.

In fact I think that the problem is that you have to be high level to go for it, so it mean that you spend a lot of time making side gigs which is contradictory with the fact that you are dying are try to find a solution very quickly.
I wouldn't have tried it with my first V who was only infiltration and a little hacker, but with full Katana samurai it was doable.

But as I said, there are a lot of frustration, everyone makes one of the choices but different reasons.

I think they are saying the path is secret, and then they choose to give body to Johnny. Which is probably the optimal path for none of your friends die, not even johnny. Rogue is pretty mad at Johnny in this ending I hear though.

If you are choosing this path, survival by any means is probably not your motivation for playing. This is the path that would rather die than work with Arasaka, and doesn't want to involve the friends they made just to attempt to live. They are trying to survive, but only on their own terms, so they would be in no rush, and would probably exhaust all options looking for other paths. Capping it off by giving Johnny the body as they said, shows survival is not the most important thing to them

I agree with this. In terms of V's own emotional logic, at least the way I played [him], V is about giving to others and if he were faced with a few months or giving a whole life to Johnny, I think to him it would be a no brainer (not least because without Johnny he'd already be dead anyway).

It also pays off in spades: it's telling that the Johnny friendship indicator hits 100 with a rollover text of absolute humility that V gave up his life for you and you'd better earn it. Johnny gets a complete and satisfying character arc from egocentric d*ck to true humility to accompany V's own.

Also heartbreaking: the multiple attempts Johnny makes to stop V making the choice in the first place.

(Yes, Rogue is mad with Johnny.)

My avatar shows my favorite and besides Judy (which was denied to me) what I really wanted and got.

Also in my ending there was no "Death sound" just the "Thump" of the save game so I survived and prosper in Arizona

I also think that V, is reborn.
She, in my game, loose her best friend just before beeing betrayed and loose her own life.
You know what is loosing friends, what is feeling the sensation of beeing killed.

I think you can see life and events a different way.

You could handled this different ways of course but I think the most important is really knowing what life really mean and how it's really important.
All she got here is like a second chance, so would she risk others life for your second chance ?

It's been a long time I didn't play so I have nothing to pay the tax.

So I really hope that the DLC will add missions before Mikoshi to share adventures with Judy or Panam.
Sure you can use their abilities is a big mission.

I honestly don't see the point. While the two are great characters - the moment your "romance" is fulfilled - their stories and interaction end with the exception of any appearance in assault/coda.

I called them hookups and not romances as after you sleep with them their stories and involvement essentially end.

Whats the point in adding quests early in the game when you're still trying to hook up adding to the overall arc when both have a good arc to them at the moment. Not awesome.. but not bad either.

Furthermore - if stuff is added at the end.. the LAST thing we need is a hacking and coughing and falling down V being a downer and overall sad reminder that death awaits and we have no option to avoid it, merely temporarily stave it off until credits roll. That said, sure CDPR can in one moment have V at point where having trouble walking and bleeding and hacking and coughing and desperate but then magically healed and have no effects on a big mission they go on while they are dying and both V and Johnny desperately want to get into Mikoshi.

If there was no ticking death clock sure. But there is..... try doing River or heaven forbid Kerry late in the game... immensely immersion breaking to be in a hurry to live and find ways to live but then go NAH - i want some D.

its wild that so many people find craving sex because you might be dead tommorow weird. If you asked people if there was a 80% chance you were going to die in two weeks, what would you do, many would seek out sex/companionship.

In the end, my V went off into the Great Unknown with Alt.

He was already dead and was interested in seeing what sort of battles awaited beyond. Johnny is forced also to not get the easy atonement he wanted of dying for another.

Seriously?!?! I didn't say at any time during the game.. I said near the end, before Mikoshi.. the closer you are to death.. the worse you are doing and feeling.

Not many patients in their last two weeks with cancer, other slow not sudden ailments are exactly feeling very randy.

Especially when you offer them a possible solution... nah let me stay here and Bonk - it can wait.

and closer to mikoshi you are... you have what.. hours to live.. 24/48, etc as you have crap all time left goign from the meeting to when you are completely lost it and cannot stand in mikoshi

True but most patients in the final minutes of their life are also not engaged in guns akimbo and slaughtering armies of thugs and mercs either.

If i was going to die tomorrow and if I can, why not :)
But have you watch Fight Club ?
The difference is that V has a plan to survive (at least they think they have one) and not much time left to execute it. Anything not directly connected to that goal felt like a waste of time to me in Act 3, and the constant relic malfunctions keep reminding you that.

V have not really a "plan" for survive, He/She have clues on who can "possibility save" his/her life (sound different to me).
  • Goro ? Who didn't know nothing (or almost) about the Relic and who said you Arasaka can save you at the beginning...
  • Voodoo Boys ? You have my word, I'll help you...
  • Alt ? Who mostly want to destroy Mikoshi (and don't care about humanity)
  • Hellman ? Who already said you, whatever, you'll die. He knows about the Relic and is honest at least (honest with a gun in front of him...).
  • Hanako ? Who don't care about V... Who only need help for back to Arasaka... (And know nothing about the Relic)
That's not sound like a "plan", much more as "possible", "maybe", "hopes"...

It's here, for me, there is a little "reflexion" :
Even if you'll probably die soon, try to help yours friends and/or try to live "normally".
Or hold on to the hope that you can be saved, at all costs (whatever the consequence).

And Relic malfunctions, it' s not often before the ending. It's generally one time per day in game (3h-4h IRL).
If it's often (constant) for you, I don't know what to said, sorry :)

But for all of that, it's just my opinion ;)
