I hope the title is not very obvious or spoilery, the original title was "Question about a particular character's destiny", but I thought it was too ambiguous therefore no one would ever click in.
I did some searching, but got no result, apologies if similar threads already exist.

So is there anyway to prevent Vesemir from dying? I feel so bad that I could not save him!!!

Nope. Vesemir dies protecting Ciri, no matter what.

indeed nope only because what happens after too with Ciri, no other way that would happen if Vesemir doesn't die.

since this is a spoiler section, I was a little disappointed that Lambert doesn't bit the bullet... It seems if Kiera there she'll save him, but if she ain't you'll save him instead. Would have been interesting to see a different outcome.
