[Spoilers] Additional, post-ending expansions?

Just like everyone else, I'd like to say that I have nothing but admiration for the Witcher 3 (and the series as a whole). It truly is a remarkable achievement.

However, just like many others I can't mask the disappointment I felt at the ending. After the credits rolled, I no longer had the desire to go out and explore the world after you return to Kaer Morhen. To have invested not just time, but emotion into the characters which you come to hold dear – for them all to be taken away – seems to contradict to what we fight so hard for in the story.

With every game, I think it's crucial that a gamer is able to enjoy the fruits of their labour. Yes your actions have consequences – not just ones seen briefly in a post-ending sequence, but ones you can see and interact with. I think the solution lies not in some free update, but in a future paid-for expansion – one where the world is truly still alive post-game.

For example, if you chose Triss, you can fast travel to a small location in Kovir (like the Palace at Vizima) and interact with her, sleep in your own bed to restore health, and take freshly cooked food back off on your travels to Velen instead of eating dried fish. The same goes for Yennefer too. I also see no reason that the rest of your compatriots can't still exist in the game world – why not visit Zoltan at the inn or by chance spot Keira and Lambert on their escapades?

I know I sound like a broken record -there have been discussions in other threads of this simply being unrealistic in such a vast game, but I'm not suggesting endless additional quests and hundreds of hours of additional dialogue. It goes without saying that this is something I would happily pay for.

I think such a triumphant final game in the series needs a real love-letter, a final send off - and closure on a title which is currently the best game I have played.

Well, the game is over and the whole "post-game" portion is there so you can play the next 100 or so sidequests you may have skipped on your way to Kaer Morhen and the Final Battle at Skellige.

I don't mind this.

Far Cry 3, Skyrim, and so on are all "done" when you finish the main plot.

However, I do think the characters should be present like Ciri, Dandelion, and so on if just to make the game world feel less lonely.

Also, how would you play a game where you assist Nilfgaard finding lost troopers if they've lost the war or sidequests where they reference the war or other events?

You can't.

The post-game part takes place after Kaer Morhen but before Skellige and that's the way it should be.

I would love post-ending content.

But what i would love even more is additional Ciri & Geralt moments. I don't think we'll be seeing her in the 2 expansions, wich is very sad for me.

Anything is welcome, but i don't think anything is 100% needed :)

Hi! I totally agree with you about the post-game. There is a big thread already here devoted to the problem. You can join the discussion here:

Greetings WolveWitcher.

Welcome to da club!

Lots of people have been complaining about this, especially how lonely the game gets when you finish it, and since the game was designed to be played EVEN when the main story ends, something should be done about it.

I've made a similar thread like yours, expressing my feelings and all about this. If you'd like to know my point of view, feel free to check out THIS thread.

Anyway, the only thing that in my opinion the game lacks, is this. So, if that somehow gets added, spending time with the characters of the main questline, especially Ciri, yen/triss and goes on, would be the best day of my life and I don't really care if they add it in a patch, or by making a dlc, or even a whole expanssion, I would just love to see that feauture getting added and I would be willing to pay the game x3 to witness it.

Post-game, but pre-epilogue? Might work.

I think this is the key - the major issue would be how you get around the war being lost/won?

The best solution is that it simply isn't over as you come back in to the world - after all, wars aren't won in a day!

Well as Crunchy i'm gonna say welcome to the club of sad and depressed people cause of the lack of end-game content. We all want after the ending to see Ciri,Yenn/Triss and the others back in the world to interact with them and do other staf. For now i can invite you to the other theard linked by DDOS and to hope that CDPRed will listen to the fans and do something.

I'd love to see a "Ciri in Cintra" post-game Expansion or Geralt in Korvir.
