(Spoilers) Characters from the Books - Who are they

Because he is but not completely, as you said. Minutes.
And by the way that wound was bloody (literally) terrible, even if he's not completely passed away he'll do it soon.
'But it is too late, I can't do anything. It is like I killed him myself.'

Ciri's vision in Kaer Morhen became true for few minutes.

@Synvael

Yeah Yennefer crying like a little girl was... well emotional. :p

On another note, I'll start on Ciri on Thursday I believe. I'm going camping tomorrow so I'll be gone for a couple of days.

I was like "she is crying, oh myyyyy she's crying" damn, that shattered my feelings... ;_;

Don't worry, go camping, you have a lot of time to do it, and the important thing is... have fun! :p

It's clear now, thank you :) But I still think this part of the story should have been given more care by both CDPR and Sapkowski. Because as far as I know, Geralt can't travel between the worlds like Ciri.

Well, we have no idea how he returned. It's supposed to be explained in W3. The only thing spoilers do for me, is hyping me more and more :D

At the point I am now in the books ( in Sword of Destiny ), I kind of want to strangle Yen. In the permanently without remorse strangle her way, but I was told it gets better :p And in Blood of Elves she is likable. Too bad I have only the fan-translated books and the awful english edition of BoV.

@The_Mountain_King

Πραγματικά είναι φοβερά τα βιβλία, όσο περισσότερο διαβάζεις, τόσο περισσότερο σου αρέσουν. Ειδικά άμα τα διαβάσεις παραπάνω από μια φορά. Έχουν βγεί στα Αγγλικά και τα The Last Wish, Times of Contempt και Baptism of Fire.

To the rest of you guys..

I got the dates mixed up. I'm going camping next week. Which means I'll place Ciri's summary in the OP tomorrow, or even today.

I wanted to post here, about Yen and the impression I got from Sword of Destiny, but then, I decided to wait until I've finished reading The Tower of Swallow and Lady of the Lake to get to better know the character. ( I decided to read them out of chronological order, since for now at least I can't order the rest of the books, thanks for the info though StaGiors! It'll be handy for sure! ) And I'll go a bit out of topic, because I just have to say it.

The first few pages in Tower of The Swallow. By the powers that be, what awesomeness was that?? The first appearance of the Wild Hunt was simply amazing and the effects it had on the whole world were breathtaking! I reread the whole part about 8-10 times before resuming the story!

Ok now, I needed to take that out. Move on. Nothing to see here. :D

Here's Part 1 about Ciri. It got quite long, as expected. I would appreciate if you guys helped me correct any mistakes, and add information that is not included. I'll continue with Part 2 tomorrow.

wasn't there a part in the books where Yen was totured by the Lodge

like Philippa or some other Sorceresses tore out her vagina parts

Not exactly tortured ... but compressed into a small jade statue (like Triss was in TW2) and kept like that for a month or so

As for the fact that she was barren, that was not the Lodge, it was most likely from her school days as it was standard practice to sterilise female students of magic academies (male too, i think)

Tissaia De Vries argued that it should be mandatory, but it wasn't standard practice. Most sorcerers and sorceresses end up sterile simply as a result of using magic, which causes physiological changes, so that's the most likely explanation for Yen's sterility. Of course, we can speculate that Tissaia implemented her ideas while head of the girls' school, but there's no solid evidence for that.

@borch3dohlen

Planning to do so, on the next parts, I didn't mention it yet, to better capture the effect this reveal would have to Ciri, just as it happened in the books. :)

Honestly I don't think you should, for that very reason you mentioned.
And even if this thread title has a spoiler tag I think that plot twist should be put under a further spoiler tag because it's a huge big fat spoiler which could ruin the reading. :p

Admit it, this is the reaction all of you had after reading that part

Heh, too true Synvael. :p

But since I've revealed it on the Emhyr section, I'm having trouble figuring out what I should do now. Spoiler tag it, or just leave it as it is?

I figured that people who read this, won't read the books, because of time limitations. I'm torn. :p
