I really hope the first DLC expands more on the prologue and fleshes out the 'six months later' nonsense you get so you can actually connect with people. How am I meant to feel for characters I never even experienced except for an over the top montage?
I agree, CDPR needs to make this the "cannon" ending to this game and build on it from there, as much as I like the different endings in w3 I really don't think that will really work here. In most of the endings V ends up dead, but I get the feeling in the nomad ending V is still sick, but actively getting better. V wont be the same person they were before, but they will be better.
To be honest, all I want from the plot is a happy end for V and Judy, because these are the most interesting characters for me personally, they achieve the best in the end of nomad, but for some reason I do not think that the ending of the legend will be connected with the dlc, although I personally do not like it at all

i also think that the ending with the nomads is the most canonical, because only in it the character grows morally, because in the 2nd contender for this title, v becomes a legend of night city, the completion of which cost him everything, and with the nomads he lets go of the past, becomes more resolute and does everything himself, not accepting johnny's help, i pray for this ending, maybe not everyone likes it, but it is the most realistic, correct of possible

It would work as a canon ending for the Nomad path. I cannot see it working for street kid and corpo, though. Street kid could have someone else deal with it, seeing as Viktor has some talent, maybe he could push for it. Corpo, no idea. But those corporations have a lot of money. I am sure they could fix it, too.
I just finished my first playthru, goin back and selecting different endings to see them all but i kinda figured they'd all end with V dying. It really makes me wonder what they would do for the dlc. Suapdrumma's thoughts probably make the most sense, anything else would have to be "squeezed in" to the main story before you die and wouldn't make a whole lot of sense since your running on borrowed time.
But I would love to go into the badlands, loooooved running around the desert outside of the city was my favorite part of the game honestly. All the zones are interesting and cool but I love sitting up on a hill and picking off all the enemies with a sniper rifle
I just want one of the DLC's to have a continuation of the trip to Arizona. The Panam ending is fantastic, but how they don't allow you to continue with being a clan member of Aldecaldos feels jarring and hollow. (Why give us a jacket when the game just resets back to before the events of the point-of-no-return.)
Also i'd like some future DLC or expansion to alter the way we are dropped back into the world right after the main story is completed on a save file; i don't like how it just resets.... i just want to play the game without my character coughing and having relic malfunctions every 5 minutes.
If Judy romanced and you let Johnny storm the tower with Rogue once its done an you wake up in the appartment Judy leaves you after which V airlocks herself......true story.
That was my first playthrough an it tasted bitter tbh lol
Second one i just complete, once again romancing Judy but going the nomad route, i'll be honest, i liked this, the only thing missing was when V sat on the tank to breathe the air Judy should've sat with her, if they could tweak that one scene to have whoever you romanced be with you, for me anyhow i'd be happy,as is im pretty content.
I got abit emotional at the end of this one listening to the credits and that was what i was looking for, just knowing that ending is there has renewed me for a 3rd playthrough now but i think i did Miss Judy good now so i can move on an go full nomad
Hey so I'm new to these forums and I don't know exactly if this is the right place to post this, but if it is I really want to hear all you thoughts on this, and any insights you might have!
So to start this off, this has heavy spoilers about multiple endings and romance options.
With that being said I have a couple what I think are pretty reasonable assumptions about what the first or at least one of the major expansion pack DLC's will be about. I know the game has only been out for 4 days so I recognize that there's no way to truly know, but based on some foreshadowing in the story and even some little easter eggs I think I have an Idea.
So I think one of the major DLC's will be about trying to save V's life again a second time. Once you finish the game, if you decide to let V live and let Johnny go with Alt, you learn that you only have 6 months to live. This happens regardless of who you decide to complete the last quest with. As long as you don't give the body to Johnny, Kill yourself, or Sell your soul you are stuck w 6 months left to live. We know that V obviously doesn't care when people tell them they're as good as dead, they've cheated death more than once at this point.
Now the reasons why I feel so strongly that this will be the DLC is because of a few subtle and maybe not so subtle hints the game gives you throughout, and especially near/at the end of the game.
Number 1. The ending with Panam and the Nomads. Whether you romance her or if you're a female and romance judy, you leave night city to go to Tucson, Arizona with the nomads. If you romanced Judy you bring her along with you. If you romanced Panam you just leave with her. (IDK about River and Kerry yet). In one of the last dialogue options you say to Panam you are going to figure out how to cure your sickness, and she says that the Aldecaldo's have people in Arizona that have helped their folks out of deep cesspits. Implying that you will be able to indeed find someone out there who can help you out. Obviously this could just be a little glimmer of hope for the player so that they can Imagine that their V doesn't actually die, But I'm gonna get to why I think it's more than that in a sec. Also before you get back in your body, Johnny tells you "Never stop fighting!" Meaning don't just lay down and die after 6 months, try to find a new cure.
Number 2. The ending with Johnny, where you take back your body from Johnny. Personally I took this path the first time, and having romanced Panam, you find her in the shower of your mansion that you now have. Again with 6 months left to live, She's mad that you're not coming with her to Arizona. Anyways y'all get into a little argument, and again there's an option where you can say that this is not the last time you will see each other. Also If you romanced River or Kerry, they show up in the mansion with you before you go to "Crystal Palace". Not sure about Judy on this one.
Finally Number 3. A bit less direct imo but it also still teases us that there will be post end game content in the DLC regarding this new health condition, and also maybe alluding that it will be in Arizona and have a lot to do with Panam and the Nomads. When you finish the game with the Nomads, at the very last scene before you drive off in the tank, you can pick up a whole legendary set-piece of armour in one of the lockers. The thing is, you can't even equip it, because the action is blocked at that point. Idk if it's just a bug at this point, but I don't really think it is, because why would they give you 3 amazing legendary tier pieces of armour right before the literal end of the game?
Another thing that is convincing is if you ever try to drive out of the map, in the badlands it says something like "Turn back, this area is not available... Yet..." Which obviously is pretty heavy foreshadowing that we will get an expansion outside of night city in the future.
The final piece of evidence is kind of small, but it's during Panam's last side quest. Right before you leave her at the new camp, you can say "Too bad this is our last time together" and she responds with, "who say's it has to be our last?". Again idk if this is alluding to the final mission with her, or if it's just some filler line, but after seeing all of this other evidence I feel like it might be a bit more than that.
Anyways, that's all I really got for now. Hope it wasn't too long. Let me know what your thoughts are, if you guys have anymore supporting my theory or evidence that this is absolutely not the case and I'm an idiot lol. I personally hope this is the case and I hope we go to Arizona with Panam, because I'm deeply in love with her and I feel as though we did not get enough content with her and our other romance options like Judy (Who would also be coming with us to Arizona if you romanced her). Only way I see this idea for the DLC being messed up is if you Sold your soul to Arisaka, or if you gave the body back to Johnny. But even with Johnny's story he leaves night city on a bus to who knows where.
TLDR: First or At least one of the major expansions is going to be about us trying to save our own lives again after the main game ending, by going to Arizona and looking for someone who has a cure with the Aldecaldos'.
I hope they will do this. BUT and it's really fucking big BUT unfortunately. i think it would be too hard to do something like that because U still can sell your soul or kill yourself at the end. Devs would have to make some kind of canonic ending and it would keep players out from completing the game by any other way than panam or rogue way. Oh i forgot that u still can let johnny live inside your body. But i have a few of my guesses. 1. Nomad dlc for sure because they can't just add a new district to the night city so they natural way of map expansion is into the desert and that ideally refers to nomads at least for the beginning of dlc. I used my superskills(i just tried to get a braindance of w3 ) and i figured out that the first dlc to witcher 3 added only a small piece of a map and contained about 20h of gameplay(100% completion). I guess that the first DLC that we will be able to play around april/may(if cdp will have the same timings as they had with the witcher 3 ) will contain some new story but still it will take place in night city. The second dlc otherwise should be released around january 2022 and it will contain entirely new map(like with toussaint in the witcher 3) and entirely new story. I hope that it would be the ending of aldecaldos storyline(arizona) but i think it's impossible. Both dlc's to witcher 3 took place before the end of witcher 3 main storyline(of course u could finish them after completing main quest but u dont have to) and i guess that the same thing will happen here, there's too many possible endings(7 if i remember correctly) to make a Dlc that will take place after the main storyline and finish V's history but i still hope it will happen because i felt so sad sitting in tears when V left the city with aldecaldos knowing that V will probably die in 6 months(let's be honest the best people in night city couldn't help V so how some guy in arizona should be able to?) . Please take a note that speculations about dlc's releases are just something i figured by looking at w3 release dates so i can be wrong.
Id like that but, in the Panam ending, panam says your going to AZ because doctors there can help, and the meds Vik gave you will give you more time.
So i dont really see an AZ expansion.
Most likely we will get a new portion of the map, a main questline + more sidequests, romance options, clothing options, a new ending if we finish the DLC quest, and thats about it.
but with how different the endings end ... i think thats the end of the game, until 2078 comes out
Any dlc that forces us out of night city would be lame. Personally, given I couldn't care less about the badlands, nomands, panam, or any of that aspect of the game.
I also highly doubt the primary focus of DLC will be the whole " I'm dying gotta survive" theme all over again. Honestly with two playthroughs it's old already. I rather spend more time actually building my V like initially promised.
The entire game (and Nomad ending in particular) is littered with symbolism and allegory in the form of Buddhism and tarot cards. The intention is to comfort the player (and V by proxy) in knowing that there is still hope. V even mentions the medication that Vic gave him is helping.
The tarot cards are self-explanatory since they mirror the choices V makes. When you bump into Jackie on the roof-top (in Mikoshi) he makes a comment about how 'Misty was right along' or something to that effect. I'm going to assume she read his cards to him before the heist. At the end Misty draws cards for you as well describing:
The Chariot - A difficult journey with a reward at the end.
The Lovers - Family and friends.
The Sun - Hope, life, and energy.
Before you reach Jackie and while you're in Mikoshi, you pass a bunch of cats going up the stairs. What do cats mean in Buddhism?
According to the Buddhist religion, the body of the cat is the temporary resting place of the soul of very spiritual people.
There's a chain of Buddhist quests where V meditates and reflects. The Monk correctly guesses V's struggle and describes that he is host to two souls: one is afraid and the other is fighting. When V asks which soul he is the Monk says he's that he is both. Johnny and V; Yin and Yang.
You wake up to a bird(freedom) on the car window, and you emerge looking at a setting sun(energy and life).
---
As for continuation there's a number of ways they can handle this. Only 3 endings are suitable for continuing the story: Arasaka, Streetkid, and Nomad. They share the common ailment and also provide the reason for V to stay/return.
Besides there's also a character that shows up twice (Mr. Blue Eyes). Remember the Peralez questline? He's there on the balcony watching both you and Jefferson. He's also there in Night City hiring V for a job on the space casino at the end of the Night City legend path. I'd put bets on seeing more of this mysterious "gentleman" in the future.
I hope they will do this. BUT and it's really fucking big BUT unfortunately. i think it would be too hard to do something like that because U still can sell your soul or kill yourself at the end. Yea I looked into the 2 w3 DLC's as well and I think it actually kind of supports my theory. The only thing that kind of contradicts it is the fact that 1 DLC was a map expansion (I think if we go to Arizona it would have to be a new area cuz it's far away) and also the fact that both of those DLC's took place mid-game. However I don't think the latter really has to do much with this game. They could easily switch up the formula to end game DLC's without any pushback in this game.
I hear what you're saying about the endings and how it would be difficult, but other than the suicide ending I think the game really sets us up for a post game expansion (at least one if not 2). If you pay close attention to what everyone is saying in all of the endings and to the tarot cards misty reads you (If you notice her tarot cards are always right throughout the game) you realize that in all of the endings there are hints subtle and not so subtle of continuing V's journey.
I'm about to drop some more spoilers so be warned.
In both the Arasaka endings, it's not actually over for V. In the sell your soul program, you sign away your rights until you are put back into a human body and you are stuck inside mikoshi as an engram until further notice. However if you ask Takemura (if he's still alive in ur game) if you will see each other again he says "I'm sure we will". On the flip side if u decide to go back to earth, you get a call from Hanako Arasaka mentioning how u have 6 months to live, but she and Arasaka would like to hire you for your services for the remainder of your life. (basically alluding to a big mission involving arasaka she needs you for).
So in saying that, if you sell your soul to Arasaka, she will probably still need your services, taking you out of Mikoshi and putting you in a new body so you can help them with whatever this mission of theirs is.
I think I explained the Nomad ending clearly enough for a setup for post game. But with the NC legend ending you are going on V's final mission to go to Crystal Palace in space. (Looking back I think this is for sure going to be an end-game DLC, I'm more sure of this than of a Nomad DLC but a Nomad DLC is still possible even with this). Mr Blue Eyes contracts you to get something from Crystal Palace, and off to space you go. There's also a whole space station area in game we can't access yet.
Obviously the suicide ending is just that. You're dead and gone. But the expansions wouldn't affect that canon at all because they just wouldn't take place if V was dead. With that being said, I did the Suicide ending my first run and you don't get an achievement for completing the game unless you do one of the other endings.
Only wild-card here is the Johnny takes over ending, but I think it could still work for a nomad DLC cuz Johnny leaves NC on a bus to god-knows where and it could easily be by coincidence to Arizona.

Yes exactly you just summed it up pretty much perfectly, although I would argue even Johnny's takeover ending could work (If they have the resources to hire Keanu to voice the MC for the rest of the game). He just leaves on a bus to god-knows where, it could easily be Arizona and later on he could find his own reasons for going to Crystal Palace or getting involved in whatever goes down in Arizona. It is Silverhand afterall, fighter, anti-corpo terrorist till the end hahaha.
I actually just finished all the buddhist and tarot cards yesterday and I agree, especially since Misty has been right the whole game, like Jackie said. Even in the other endings a lot of the tarot readings point to a continuation of the story. I really don't think this is the end for V, and I'm not just saying that because I want the endings to be different and I want V to live. I guess I'm in the minority of people who actually really don't mind the endings at all, I think they're a good conclusion, sure they're sad but not every ending has to be happy. I do think that CDPR has really set it up for a post game story expansion though, I think if anyone reads between the lines you can see it coming pretty clearly. Whether we go to Arizona, or Crystal Palace or both remains to be seen though.
Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.
Let's first wait and see how CDPR is going to handle the current situation.
I feel like nothing anyone says is going to change whatever they have already planned as major DLC expansions.
Now, It's nice to think about all the options, possibilities and the what-if's.
But just remember what we hoped to get... and what we got.

well i hope that u are right i really want to explore the world of cyberpunk, i think that dlc's that would be some kind of epilogue to all the endings are a great idea. I would like to know what happened on the crystal palace or in arizona. I know that endings not always have to be happy, for example to the moon ending was so fucking sad that it made me cry and it was a great ending, but i think that the epilogues for every ending were way too short, so many things were left unfinished and unspoken. I'm gonna say something about possible nomad dlc. So we have 2 main romances (Judy and Panam) and if u decide to be a legend they both will leave u in the epilogue. Panam will be mad at you because u don't wanna leave with aldecaldos and Judy will leave because she hates night city and she can't be happy with you in that place. It's sad that in this moment V can't change his/her mind and decide to leave the city . So i think that canon ending is the nomads one and even the npc's try to tell it to you. I hope that they will add dlc's that will explore the ending of the game more, V is honestly my favourite main character since the witcher 3 and i just want to know what happens to him/her. Because only the one where u kill yourself is finished for me. All other endings still have some story to be told and i hope we will see it in the future.
And ihave a question, i haven't completed the game by giving V's body to johnny so maybe u will know. Can u call judy/panam as johnny in the epilogue to let them know what happened to V? i sawthat ending on youtube and it's so sad to see judy trying to contact you because she don't know what happened, she thinks that Vjust left her without saying anything and don't realise that V is actually dead.

I think CDPR, assuming they don't go belly up financially, will do something similar to the Witcher 3's dlcs. The first DLC is 100% going to be set in night city. It might follow V, but I'd guess that it would follow a storyline from a character we know. There is a story behind Mr. Blue Eyes (who is 100% brainwashing the mayor.) That seems like the biggest mystery, but there's tons honestly. Why Okada gave us the information on the Japan town parade. Misty's cards are also a good candidate, but I'll get to that. TBH I wouldn't be surprised if there's going to be a lot of DLC for this game since it seems like there's so many loose ends. The second DLC, if CDPR sticks to history, will be a lot bigger and might feature a new map. The question is: is it going to be V's second chance.
I really believe that the nomad ending is cannon. Either that or the one where Johnny takes your body. Because those are the only two endings that I would consider 'good.' But, Misty's cards say the Johnny ending is bad, so I'd say nomad ending is the true and good ending.
Speaking of Misty's cards, I think that the hints the story gives you definitely imply that V is going to cure her disease, but Misty's cards are what gives away that the nomad ending is going to be continued. In the end credits of the nomad ending Misty pulls the chariot, the lovers, and the sun from her tarot deck. These cards are VERY good success, love, overcoming adversary. But, the biggest thing is that they really do imply that V will have good health following her (the sun). But, it also implies that she might have more work to do. Maybe not though. The chariot is a journey that ended well so it could mean the story we just played through.
There's a lot of questions left in the tarot part of the game. Judgment and the devil (the two missing cards) are found in Johhny's ending in the smasher fight and in the Arasaka ending. As far as I can find nobody really knows what these cards are for. I think the DLC will expand on that.
If V does get a second chance I think that Mr. Blue Eyes is going to be the contact. I'm pretty sure he's a reference to the illusive man, but he might be a mystery that'll get solved. And, if he does get a DLC, his power will definitely give V a chance at curing her condition.
What I really don't know is whether V's story is going to be continued in DLC or in a sequel. If there is a sequel. Either way it's definitely not the last we've seen of her/him. Unless CDPR decides to abandon future prospects for the game.
Is there a possibility that Mr Blue Eyes is a rogue AI trying to control Nightcity through Puppets? In the NCL (Nightcity Legend) ending he mentions his people swooping into Arasaka's exposed facilities and stealing a monumental amount of technology. The Aldecaldos did the same thing but we know what they are going to use that tech for.
Blue Eyes reminds me of The Illusive Man from ME2. There's so much potential here for a plot to uncover what MBE is up to.

i think that sequel to this game won't feature V at all, it might be something like i dunno gta? like in the sequel we create a new character and follow the new characters story? And well i think that the next cp game will come out in i dunno 10 years? cd project will be focused on a) dlc's and multiplayer mode for cp b) next witcher game. I think that we might see new witcher around 2024/25 and new cyberpunk around 28/29/30 if they decide to make a sequel(the game is great but we all know that not every game needs a sequel and for me cp is one of them. V's story is in 90% complete for me, we only lack the ending because every ending in the game feels incomplete, and like we said with the poststory dlc, in the dlc case it can expand the game basing on your choice(arizona dlc if u choose to leave with panam for example) but if they want to make a sequel they will 100% have to choose a canon ending because it's impossible to write a complete new story if the last story could end in so many different ways. Even metro series had to choose canonic endings for 2033 and last light to be able to make exodus. And in this games u only have 2 endings. with 7 endings it's impossible to make a sequel that will be focused on V unfortunately, V could be an easter egg in the new game, like some of the character in the sequel would say something about V to bring a little flashback to players who played the first game. Judgment and devil meaning was explained by misty but i don't remember what did they mean though
@poldengonyboy Idk if it's the same for you, but I just noticed something that can imply a continuing story. You know how the main menu has a different screen based on where you are in the story? After returning to the point of no return and starting up the game, my main menu has an Aldecaldos favored ending.
Probably reading too much into it - but I'm hopeful for what might come.
I got abit emotional at the end of this one listening to the credits and that was what i was looking for, just knowing that ending is there has renewed me for a 3rd playthrough now but i think i did Miss Judy good now so i can move on an go full nomad
from my nomad play i did notice one little thing after you get the car running at the start of the game and leave to go meet jackie at the cross roads if you go right and drive to the edge the game gives you a text (Turn Back. Nothin out there for you... Just Yet.) might be or mean something might not just noticed it wihle playing
from my nomad play i did notice one little thing after you get the car running and leave to go meet jackie at the cross roads if you go right and drive to the edge the game gives you the usual your not supposed to go here but adds to the end (just yet...) or something very close can´t remember the exact wording
