[SPOILERS] Evelyn Parker, wasted potential! Your Thoughts?

You can say what you will but the whole story is getting Johnny out of your head. To do so, the main story leads you through his life. How he ended up on the chip. The arasaka nuke, rogue, The band, Alt, etc Nothing is really about V and who V is. We left who we were or going to be after the Heist.

The whole story is how you react to the imminent prospect of death and whether you can stop it. Plus what legend you forge.

Honestly. I felt the game really lacked the option of, "Do good before you die."

Oh I agree. I believe the story is about Johnny and not about V. I don't know why they even bothered letting us create a V if all they were going to do is walk us through Johnny's life.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy it. I admit, I'm super glad we created V and look forward to more adventures with them.

Well they did a poor job at it. Zapping me every now and then to remind me I'm dying(because of the chip of Johnny) doesn't really immerse me in the "imminent prospect of death" It reminds me that I am being overtaken by another character and to stop it I need to go through his story, not mine. LOL legend I forge is just a joke to me. I have done nothing except maybe helped a few people along the way but I am just trying to save myself. That is not really legendary. A legend does something extraordinary and sorry V did not.

if you ask me johnny's story has already been "told" in the PnP(plus those who watched the lore videos on youtube). it REALLY should focus on V instead. johnny is "fleshed out" while most of the others are not.

I think Evelyn's plot and character are fine.

It could be explored more, sure, but I think she represents well what Cyberpunk is.

She got the gig from the VDBs to scroll the BD. Nothing else. And we know how VDBs treats ranyons.

She either knew, she would get burned by the VDBs or got greedy herself. I think the latter is the case here due to her conversation about ditching Dex, so she doesn't have to pay his fee.

She is the classic tale of the moth who flew too close to the light. Literally.

Yes that's how game explained.
But it still feels something wrong, there almost another Evelyn after the chip quest.
Go back to work is never make sence.
She just hire someone to kill the King of a superpower.
How can she get sleep?
If she is powerful enough to protect herself, do it
If she is too week so that have to earn money, she'd better run with Judy as soon as possible.
You will do many job about sent someone in truble run out of the city, that's what she need either.
She came to work and be destoryed by VDB, then no one told Judy and sold her just like homeless?
Even I can understand her suicide, I have to say the story is retarded.

I think she returned to the cloud because she felt safe their.

She was the Evelyn Parker, a sought-after and valued doll.

She got protection from the VDBs by selling out to the Claws.

She even removed the jackpot in her room to be safe from the VDBs.

I guess they infected a client with a virus and then got access that way.

Why Forest did what he did afterwards - I guess that he finally had her in a vulnerable state. After she was burned out he sold her to Finger who sold her to the Scavs.

I can see that they would usually "dispose"/"retire" burned out dolls to the jig jig street, where the tigers have their domain and still could get some cut of their money, without having to provide the protection and shelter needed at the clouds.

regarding T-Bug, im quite surprised nobody caught it yet - T-Bug was taken out by Soulkiller AI.. because she was in net when lockdown was initiated... which means she is also stored in Mikoshi as engram...

And for Evelyn Parker, she is perfect example of a person who crosses way too many people... she double-crossed Yorinobu and Arasaka, Voodoo Boys, Netwatch, then Dex, and V... I feel sad for what happened to her, but at the other side, girl was poking beehives left and right....

Her depiction with glowing Eyes, when you're controlled your eyes glow or when you transfer money? Like in the moment when you lay down with one of the dolls in clouds.

Next thing I think at Mr Blue Eyes and rogue AI.

She was very important to me, some quests earlier before all of that what happened, I was in the building of the scavs without knowing it.

Wonder what would have happened if they allowed you to go in and kill everyone there.

Judy and Evelyn, I feel super sry for them, a crying J. is also very devastating

There should be an option to meet Evely after the heist. Like you can see in Yorinobu's hotel room screen that he has hired Evelyn from Clouds. would be cool to warn her for returning back there. I think Voodoo Bois fried her brain but she could have done something to protect herself.

How can you feel sorry about Parker when she was about to backatab you, Like three other parties before you, without blinking an eye?

Perhaps I'm just able to get behind the concept of getting tortured in multiple ways.

"She had it coming" sure, sure

Exactly. It's not just that. If she survived the whole story about Dolls and how they are used, abused and discarded wouldn't have the same impact. Then there's Judy's story which again wouldn't have been as involved or meaningful without that tragedy. That was a classic case of two ppl bonding over a tragedy, something that does happen so I'm happy they took that approach. It's ok to not want a liked character to die but look at the bigger picture and not just what's in front of you. The constant complaining here with no thought behind it is just nonsensical

Evelyn is definitely the sort of scenario i'd like to have had a real choice and wasted potential. Feel there's a growing view among game writers about wanting linear movie writing rather than real interactivity of paths.

See there I'm an thinking about something like a RPG approach, where you could influence the trajectory of the bullet even though it had been fire, but ofc you can always take what you get and justify it or believe that others don't put thought into it.

Nah, you just naive and easy to manipulate, not seeing through lies.
yes, ofc

Suicide in general is wasted potential. That's why it leaves an empty feeling with you. All the 'could-have-beens' and 'would-have-beens' is exactly what needed to be conveyed from her death.

She did... she contacted Netwatch and wanted to sell chip to them, and asked for protection.. you can read about it in laptop next to Netwatch agent during excursion to mall in Pacifica... She was playing so many people....

Evelyn suicide is the only suicide in the game, player cannot stop by his actions...
