Mrowakus said:No, the entire game is not shit because of the ending or TIM. In fact it's quite enjoyable popamole shooter with RPG elements.
That sounds to me like Shepard was indoctrinated and they toned it down a bit for technical reasons. Plus they knew the ending would cause "Lots of speculation for Everyone!" So at this point I think that whether or not Shepard is actually supposed to be indoctrinated, they intentionally made it vague enough to confuse the hell out of everyone. And even in November the gameplay team was still experimenting with an endgame sequence where players would suddenly lose control of Shepard's movement and fall under full reaper control. (This sequence was dropped because the gaemplay mechanic proved too troublesome to implement alongside dialogue choices).
In my view, what they are doing here is just a damage control. Even if by some stroke of galactic fate indoctrination theory is right, they couldn't have handled it in more amatourish way. For all we know that space beams might as well have triggered an ice cream avalanche which made the Reapers reconsider their purpose in life and go on retirement eating all flavours of it. After all, who would want to destroy worlds when you can eat ice cream, all day long?WardDragon said:I love these pictures
Also, I just saw this thread which quotes pieces of an interview about things that got cut from ME3's ending:

This part in particular caught my attention:

Yes, this ending has as much to do with what commander Shepard has done in the span of three games as what we really got. The amount of foreshadowing, exposition, intrigue, and player's input is identical.
That is awesome!Mrowakus said:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzYLTbQQEZQ&feature=player_embedded

@PaceBreaker23 people on the forums are doing it FAR better than I ever could have: social.bioware.com/forum/Mass-Eff…
I saw someone in that Final Hours thread you linked to earlier say that the reason they scrapped it was that Bioware felt it was "too long for the moment."WardDragon said:It's so sad and perfect, and the voice acting is so good. Why would it get cut?![]()
Oh, right. I didn't read through the whole thread so I missed that. I only saw the part at the beginning that said they cut the Catalyst dialogue, which I also think was a mistake as it would have made a lot more sense to question him about what was going on. Those interrogation dialogue choices should have been included even if they were purely optional.227 said:I saw someone in that Final Hours thread you linked to earlier say that the reason they scrapped it was that Bioware felt it was "too long for the moment."
Yeah, it is a little better than he usually sounds, but I still think it pales in comparison to Jennifer Hale's performance.227 said:The male version of that exchange is also really good. Not as good overall, but the "... Anderson?" at the end gave me goosebumps. For how little emotion male shep's voice tends to have, the delivery of that line is excellent:

At least in the female Shepard version, it sounds to me like they both know they're dying and they're kind of trying to cheer each other up and sadly imagine what sort of future they could have had if the Reapers hadn't shown up. I think it fits perfectly with Shepard dying.GibbGeralt said:They cut Anderson's dialogue because they didn't want to rub even more salt into the wound. Can you imagine Anderson and Shepard talking about their futures and what they'll do next, only to get blindsided by the AI kid? It would seem even more abrupt than it already is.
Speaking of ice cream... I just found this:WardDragon said:Mmm, ice cream![]()
Ha! It's on Know your meme:CostinMoroianu said:No, but because he is the actual final enemy you shoot in the game.
