I would like the freedom of choice to drive a Ferrari in The Witcher 3. Or bake cookies.

No. It all boils down to dumbing down and changing other characters to fit YOUR whims.

There would have been nothing more OOC than Sile playing around with Geralt. It doesn't fit her character, it doesn't fit the context of urgency and vigilance she is in (she already trusted a Witcher and got screwed), and it doesn't fit the distrust the Lodge have towards Geralt.

But you want to alter all that to have some "freedom."

The beauty of the Witcher 2 is that the characters are actually characters. With personality, objectives, interests, and limits. To alter them, or bend them so that they stroke your ego while you moan about "freedom" is simply bad writing.

IIRC Geralt doesn´t really sleep with that many women in the books. Who was it? Shani, Triss, Yennefer, Fringilla Vigo and maybe Essi Daven? Not sure about the last one, though they sure were attracted to each other.

W1 was little over the top in this regard but it had its charm and cards were fun. I didnt really cared for sex in W2 since sex cutscenes were really not as interesting as cards.

The best thing about W1 was that they made sex funny and often relevant to story in some small way. Ghosts in old mill, jealous sister in Murky Waters, shaking of medallion with Adda etc. That was probably why I didnt care for sex in W2 except for succubus snd elven bath scene. And the fact that story was much more fast-paced and Geralt was looking for Triss. That´s why I am curious how will they manage this part in W3.

It´s a shame there was nothing with Sheala though. That conversation with her in her room before taking on Kayran had that funny W1 spirit.

And Iola... but along 15 years a half dozen of women (two of them using magic induction) maybe 8.... Is that really a number of women enough to qualify Geralt as rakish? I thought the rake one was Jaskier/Dandelion ....

Please don't talk about "romance" in TW games. Romances still rings juvenile fantasy to me. However, "(adult) relationships" is more in touch with TW world in my opinion.

When asked how romances would be depicted in TW3, the game director said it would be like TW2. He also mentioned paid sex and casual romance. So I expect something along the lines of the second game. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more casual shagging options since Geralt will cover more territory, but they don't need to go back to TW1's rockstar approach where so many women want to sample the fabled third sword. It's kind of refreshing actually when he gets turned down. I'd like to see that more often.

In W1, I think they just wanted make a point that Geralt was a sterile macho man and sluts dig him. I'm sure Geralt slept with multiple people they just weren't mentioned in the books.

I wanna know if Geralt actually refuses a womans advances in the books.

Yeah W2's story was really fast paced that my Geralt couldn't even fuck the succubus. He didn't even sleep till Saskia was cured.

We'll probably get more sex in TW3 because it's more open world and sex scenes wouldn't feel so out of place because of that.

For me the anonymity isn’t the biggest problem of this system (although it adds to it). My gripe with this thing that it’s utterly worthless in my opinion. Unconstructive criticism in general is. What good does it do me when I know that some anonymous people liked or disliked my post? It would be much better if said people would come forward and articulate what they did or did not like. Otherwise one can’t rightly act on said criticism.

In the Books he refuses a few encounters:
Triss
Angoulême
Some woman who rubs her boob on his ear
Likely more but my memory fails me.

Not just no, in the name of Freya, Kreve, and Melitele, NO!

It would have been better to have no sex at all in the first two games than to invite users to think that such a form of "adult" (in the sense of "adult" meaning "hopelessly childish") escapades would be anything but a grotesque waste of bits.

Geralt is a definite character in a definite story. The game should not give you the option of making him into just anything you see fit, especially when that just anything is Leisure Suit Larry.

Yes, I like it as well. I found it very good that the development of sexual encounters in TW2 were realistic (not just plausible). Take Ves, for example. First, in Flotsam, when Geralt has a chance to hit on her, she said "no" - "I need your sword, not your dick". Then they have a chance to get through some tough things together (Loredo's mission), travel together, and, as in reality in the army, Ves is more receptive. After Geralt dueling with her and, in her eyes, showing her respect, she fancies him at last. Not out of the blue.

A girl Geralt saved from the burning building. She had nothing to offer but herself. It is up to you whether you feel you are taking advantage, or not, but it is quite realistic.

Succubus had to have sex for a life force. Geralt helped her, and she still took something from him. No problem with this exchange.

Baby Cynthia always does whatever a hell she wants, that's why I like her. She and Geralt are similar in many respects, she likes him, and he helps her out with her mission (and does not kill her in the end). Why not to sleep with him as well, it should be fun!

Hookers are fine as well. You pay your hard-earned 100, you get what you paid for.

All of these things were very good, fit within the story, and did not scream - teenage dream! I do not care how many opportunities we will have in TW3, I just want all of them be meaningful. Also it would be great if Geralt spend some time with somebody (like Sile), tries to wrestle a bit of sex out of her, and gets nothing. It only adds to a realistic feeling of TW Universe.

The extent to which a developer or writer includes sexual activity in their game depends on them- it's their choice to control the amount and determine the manifestation of that activity; it could be no sex or romantic activities, or a free-for-all bangfest.

Whatever the developer or writer chooses is okay, and it doesn't make sense to ask them to include something which they didn't want to in the first place. You can make a suggestion, but that doesn't mean your suggestion is applicable to the case at hand, or that it is properly justified.

The case for free-for-all player autonomy does not apply here for reasons already stated, so let's just let it go.

As it was said by the devs in an interview about TW3 (and how much romance/sex will include). Geralt is simply not the kind of guy that wants to just sleep with women, he expects something more from them, and I find myself agreeing with that, maybe in another mature game you could sleep with every woman existing in it, but in this one you are playing Geralt, and even with his amnesia I think that he still has a lot of fragments of his former self
