I would like the freedom of choice to drive a Ferrari in The Witcher 3. Or bake cookies.
No. It all boils down to dumbing down and changing other characters to fit YOUR whims.johnmaikeru said:It all boils down to being able to play Geralt as you see fit
In W1, I think they just wanted make a point that Geralt was a sterile macho man and sluts dig him. I'm sure Geralt slept with multiple people they just weren't mentioned in the books.Babli said:IIRC Geralt doesn´t really sleep with that many women in the books. Who was it? Shani, Triss, Yennefer, Fringilla Vigo and maybe Essi Daven? Not sure about the last one, though they sure were attracted to each other.
W1 was little over the top in this regard but it had its charm and cards were fun. I didnt really cared for sex in W2 since sex cutscenes were really not as interesting as cards.
The best thing about W1 was that they made sex funny and often relevant to story in some small way. Ghosts in old mill, jealous sister in Murky Waters, shaking of medallion with Adda etc. That was probably why I didnt care for sex in W2 except for succubus snd elven bath scene. And the fact that story was much more fast-paced and Geralt was looking for Triss. That´s why I am curious how will they manage this part in W3.

My gripe with this thing that it’s utterly worthless in my opinion. Unconstructive criticism in general is. What good does it do me when I know that some anonymous people liked or disliked my post? It would be much better if said people would come forward and articulate what they did or did not like. Otherwise one can’t rightly act on said criticism.
Seeing that this doesn't work for me, an educated guess: only as a moderator.gregski said:If you click on the number by the + - buttons, it will show you who up and down voted the post.

In the Books he refuses a few encounters:guipit said:I wanna know if Geralt actually refuses a womans advances in the books.

It would have been better to have no sex at all in the first two games than to invite users to think that such a form of "adult" (in the sense of "adult" meaning "hopelessly childish") escapades would be anything but a grotesque waste of bits.
Geralt is a definite character in a definite story. The game should not give you the option of making him into just anything you see fit, especially when that just anything is Leisure Suit Larry.

Yes, I like it as well. I found it very good that the development of sexual encounters in TW2 were realistic (not just plausible). Take Ves, for example. First, in Flotsam, when Geralt has a chance to hit on her, she said "no" - "I need your sword, not your dick". Then they have a chance to get through some tough things together (Loredo's mission), travel together, and, as in reality in the army, Ves is more receptive. After Geralt dueling with her and, in her eyes, showing her respect, she fancies him at last. Not out of the blue.slimgrin said:When asked how romances would be depicted in TW3, the game director said it would be like TW2. He also mentioned paid sex and casual romance. So I expect something along the lines of the second game. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more casual shagging options since Geralt will cover more territory, but they don't need to go back to TW1's rockstar approach where so many women want to sample the fabled third sword. It's kind of refreshing actually when he gets turned down. I'd like to see that more often.
