Just rushed to finished the main quest, have important business next week !

About story, I bet everyone who loved detective novel/games ... could figure out
Syanna and Detlaff's lover is the same person the first time Anna mentioned her cursed/exiled sister, the "revenge" plot again, someone revenge someone because of envy, forgotten ...
It's somehow make the game boring for me.

But I love the way CDP add the fantasy elements in the game, never stop amaze me (
(Red Riding Hood, 3 Little Pigs ...)
) And a monster contract in a
dream land
, well keep doing that CDP. It make me soon forget all the broing feel I had.

About difficulty, I think this expansion still easy (death march, upscale on). I started the expansion at level 41, finished with lv 50, never died even one, not count
the first time Detlaff beat me because the game force it too - allow Regis rescued me
Maybe I will die in a sub quest, can't do them right now, but in main quest, I don't !

Sorry for my English !!!

In general, I still love Blood and Wine, will definitely support CDP again, If they release the GOTY edtion :D

I loved it. Regis was a great character just like in the books, and his conversations with Geralt were some of the best highlights for me.
I had a big smile (and almost a tear) on Geralt and Regi's final conversation when in the end he looks into the screen with a small smile himself. :')

While HoS had a better driving force and fleshed out antagonists, the real beauty of BaW (besides the quite obvious) is the sheer absurdity which what makes this franchise great, and most importantly, Geralt got to go home, that was the perfect ending for me.

Played a bit more, and more I play it the less I like it. I feel like I'm playing the Batman game. Geralt is a knight in the shining armor saving kittens from the trees, protect good people from thugs, and clean every fucking cellar and vineyard of monsters (because there's no cellar or vineyard without monsters in Toussant). Everybody likes him, riding along any road around the country everybody praise him. This is not the witcher universe, sorry CDPR, you missed the main concept... Will play some more, so far it seems B&W won't be even nearly as good as HoS.

Finished 3 endings so far (sisters reconcile, both dead, Syanna's dead), currently on my second walkthrough - will choose other options in all side-quests and will seek Orianna's help this time.

Story: while HoS was focused on personal stories, B&W is all about scenery and big scale action. I prefer first type on narrative, but nonetheless B&W is bloody awesome. Slow start, but then the confict escalates quickly and in surprising ways, love it :) The Land of Thousand Fables was absolutely amazing.

Special shout out for some side quests, like a bank quest or the one with ponderous dialogues with Roach - some of the best stuff in whole game and trilogy :D

Characters: Well, I still don't know who was that woman called Duchess - she had only glimpses of her persona from the "Lady of the Lake"; good character, but barely Anna-Henriette. Regis is closer to himself, but not quite there in my perception. Syanna is a nice touch on Renfri 2.0, she's very good at it. Dettlaff is charismatic in his vampire ways, good enough. Looking to learn more about Orianna.
Some minor characters are just a pure gold, like that jail mate :D

Gameplay/Usability: A lot of good tweaks, love it. Mutation system is very intersting, but OMG, it makes already too easy fights even easier. New and old new monsters are great, especially bruxas and alps. I liked bosses from HoS better, but Wicked Witch and Dettlaff delivered some fun.

Gwent: dammit, Keris rocks

Ufff finished. First of all thanks CDPR, I blame you for sitting half of a weekend in front of computer (luckily there's still few hours of Sunday in front of me so I can ejnoy the great weather :D). I liked Blood and Wine even more than HoS and I liked HoS a lot. B&W was somehow special because I had a feeling of farewell to the character. I always loved in W2 that you have to play at least 2 times to experience both Roche and Iorveth path. Here similiar situation - What lies Unseen was probably my favourite quest, but Beyond Hill and Dale was hilarious (Wolf on Hangover and Three not so little pigs really made me laugh). I really liked reference to Night to remember trailer and Orianna (although it would be even better if we had a chance to fight her). It was great to see Regis, and Geralt settling down with Yennefer in the end.

Somehow I'm not happy to finish DLC because this is the end. After 8 books, 3 games and 2 DLC Geralt story came to the end and what's worse there's nothing we could wait for (except the movie - maybe Bagiński won't screw thing up). But so far this is kinda final farewell with Geralt so I can only say - Thank you CDPR and...

Va fail, Gwynbleidd

Touissant is a beautiful place, no doubt the best I've ever seen in the Witcher series. Didn't expect it to be this beautiful, really fantastic.

Geralt got a home but that's where I got some issues, I wanted to renovate more. A lot more. You only need like 14-15k to do all and that's also way too cheap. You're on the very endgame of the whole W3 so you gotta have loads more to spend.

Characters were not as good as in HoS. Except Regis, he's great. The quests were high, high quality, Beyond Hill & Dale probably my favorite. Lots of sidequests were very good too, talking with THAT one animal was pure genius.

New mutagen system seems nice although haven't had a need to use it.

At one point, my Roach lost a tail permanently (a random bug) and that's a bummer.

All in all a fitting ending for the best witcher that ever lived.

Would be nice if CDPR fixes some of these new bugs and off I go to NG+ later.

First of all
too...no
TOO MANY book references, simply the tons of them. Think that after B&W nobody will say that books are not canon to the games.
Almost every main character is from the books, was written for those book characters or based on some book characters. Lovely.
Also need to mention some nice references to the Witcher 1. The heart of Sapkowski fan and the first game lover is singing as never.

Second. Regis. Don't want to speak about uncanon stuff and how did he survive. I just happy to have one of the best The Witcher characters ever in this game. Even though sometimes he acts odd he's still that Regis we read about. Talking about other character I think that Dettlaff, Orianne and Vivenne are the great ones. Really well written.

Third. The magic of Toussaint. I simply can't stop admiring it, nor leaving this place. It's just the best location in the whole The Witcher 3 game. I mean it. As much as I love Skellige, looks like it was beaten by that little Italy among TW world.

Fourth. Sidequests. They are perfect. As usual ofc but the ones with hidden alternative paths to complete are simply outstanding. The best way to feel the real choices to make.

Fifth. Such a godlike reference to HoS and O'Dimm itself. That place is the creepiest in the whole witcher 3 and that quest is surely in the top 10.
____________

The things I disliked are in the main story mostly. The sisters stuff was really weak and odd: Syanna is a distorted version of Renfri. Her motivation sucks in a context of killing Anna-Henriette. She acts really annoying, even disturbing, especially in Regis's "peaceful" way. If Renfri was just like her there'd be no Lesser Evil and no hard choice for Geralt in Blaviken at all.
Until that moment when you meet her...everything was great in the story.

Also not enough alps, found it more challenging and interesting to fight but there are bruxas everywhere instead.

P.S. No Angoulême nor Caranthir cards : (
P.P.S. Dyes are magic. Addicted to the stuff.

First impression of Toussaint was "Good Lord it's beautiful". The scenery really is like something from fantasy. It's very much based on Renaissance France and Italy with its vineyards, decorative architecture and pastoral landscape.

I was hoping the loading times would have been improved for the PS4 but it seems they've become even more laggy. From brewing potions to selling items to switching between pages, the loading times are still all very slow.

I've barely progressed into the main quest, I've been too busy looking around! The armour dye is a BRILLIANT idea.

My god.. i finished it. So much emptiness and sadness in my heart... again :(

Here my impressions of this pearl of expansion:

I really enjoyed the story and his intense moments, loved Regis and Anna and only a bit less Syanna and Detlaff. The main antagonist does his job, he's not as good as Gaunter but it works, i liked her and her motivations. The pacing of the story while being awesome is not as good as the one of HoS, again, but the cause might be the nature open world of Toussaint. (TW2 and HoS are top notch for me) The *ahem* romance was kinda short, but it really repaid in the end ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The "good" ending which i got could have been a bit more elaborated imo, but i'm pretty satisfied with what i got. I very appreciated the possibility to choose paths for dealing with Detlaff but the second one received less love than the one placed on that fairy land, real shame.

Insane and varied amount of contents, for such low price, which i have completed in roughly 30+ hours. The new boss fights, monsters and mechanics are complex, fun and engaging. They really show how much effort you put into this.

The soundtrack is freakin beautiful, don't really know what to say other than goosebumps! A really huge applause to M. Przybyłowicz, M. Stroinski and P. Musial.

The land of Toussaint, while not being much close to my heart, is absolutely the best setting seen in the all witcher games so far. It's an absolute pleasure to wander there, the lever designers and concept artists really nailed the beauty of this land. (It needs a LOD option/slider tho)

You listened to some of our complaints and you pleased us in the way you thought would be best. Seeing your loved one at home, old beloved characters, a vineyard, a worthy final boss fight with really BADASS combat cutscenes and all the other improvements you made to the game itself.

Thank you CDPR for the passion you put into these 3 games, don't ever change. :affection:

I shed a tear and i had a big smile on my face while seeing this:

CDPR really honed every aspect of the base game and the result is the, atleast thus far, super awesome Blood and Wine.

+Really nice to see that the shortcomings of the base game have been recognized and improved upon ( Trees, vegetation, LOD transitions are more subtle, changes to water etc.)
+I was also happy to see that things like autocamera centering can be disabled straight from the menu where as I before had to use mods (Thanks to the creators of those). I hope that FriendlyHUD/immersiveHUD style of functionality will be present in future games by CDPR if not in a future patch for Witcher.
+Dialogues and their cinematics are really awesome. Quite fascinating to see how those aspects have evolved from the base game through HOS to BaW.
+Story has been interesting with quite alot of nice references to the books etc.

The new region is generally a bit more demanding on the GPU side but also looks very, very nice. Areas are also more balanced when it comes to GPU utilization where as in the base game there were great variations between for example Novigrad and Skellige druid forests.( GPU utilization going between Novigrads 40% to 100% in afformentioned location in skellige whilst V-synced at 60FPS). This just means that were getting maximum eye candy at all times. Only time that the framerate dipped unusually was when
searching for the three clues with Anna Henrietta. If I recall correctly it happened especially at the ''phoenix egg'' part when you rendezvous after finding the two earlier clues.

-played about 6 hours so haven't been able to test all areas.

Really nice experience thus far. Thanks for the taking the time to deliver us such an nice expansion

Wow. So I just finished BaW last night and I have to say bravo CDPR. An excellent last hurrah for Geralt and if this really is it, for the Witcher franchise as a whole.
Pros:
-Graphics were beautiful. Pretty much everything about Touissant was an improvement over the base game
-Really loved the look of the Grandmaster armor
-Side quests continued the quality found in the base game
-Gwent!
-Music was goddamn fantastic. I loved all of the new tracks. Loved a Lullaby of Woe getting it's due as the main theme.
-Really enjoyed the main questline. I liked the Duchess, Detlaff, Vivienne, Syanna, and of course Regis
-The boss fight with the Bruxa at Corvio Bianco was straight out of that trailer. Vampires in general were given a lot more love and better reflected their lore abilities. I really did believe that Detlaff was a threat to even Geralt.
-All the book and previous games callbacks
-Land of a Thousand Fables was fucking amazing and hilarious
-Dat HoS refrence gave me the shivers
-Getting to upgrade your own retirement home and having Yen come live with me was awesome. Finally shook off the post-game blues.

Cons
-The one-shot KO for Detlaff's final form had pretty terrible hitboxes. It also seemed to hit at different times each time. You need to improve hitboxes for future games.
-I myself had a pretty smooth playthrough but I understand some people have been plagued by bugs
-The mutation system in particular seems to be bugged and not all that useful to be honest
-Horse controls suck, so why on Earth did you guys have that horse race in the tourney? I raged so hard due to Geralt either flailing about and being unable to hit a target standing still or Roach running off in all directions
-Wish we could've hung the portrait of Iris and Olgierd in the house
-Some of the bosses were pathetically easy like Golyat and the Giant in the Castle
-Wish you would've elaborated what Syanna's final fate in the "happy" ending was

I really wish you could've had Yen and Ciri show up if Ciri was a Witcher and you romanced Yen. Would've been the perfect conclusion.

All in all I loved it. I hope you'll improve combat and controls for Cyberpunk and also try to address how long the loading screens are. If it's because of the map size I just want to say that I'd prefer a smaller map with better content and shorter load times to the huge W3 map with their rather bad POI's and long load times.

Probably not except for the new water that has been applied everywhere in the base game as far as I know.

After playing the whole expansion I did find a few places
''Fairytale land'' for example
where GPU usage skyrockets with Foliage draw distance maxed out. So, yeah, foliage distance is still the main performancehog and cause of inconsistent GPU usage.

I suggest dropping foliage distance a step down and instead increase other settings that affect performance consistantly regardless of location. This will net better visual quality in most situations and a more consistent FPS / GPU usage overall.

Yeah, I think it was decent, but not superb. I think HoS kinda set the bar too high in this regard for me. Regis and Henrietta stole the show, but Detlaff and Syanna were not as good as Gaunter and Olgierd were. I think my biggest grip is that the background story is too similiar to The Lesser Evil.

I think bringing back Regis was an easy choice because of the setting and fanservice :)

I mean come on, the theory about him surviving is as old as the books are and they picked it up and presented it to us.

Preventing vampires from attacking the city should have definitely been a player choice! I also wish there were more disastrous consequences like, several side quests failed because of the vampire attack on the city (because the quest givers died in the attack for example).

Yup!!

Give out Syanna or innocents have to suffer. When they were already attacking I just thought why even risk Syanna in the first place? So I went first to that elder vampire.

I just finished the game and my God's my chest hurts! The agony of finishing this game is massive. I feel like there is the empty hole in my heart that will never be filled!

I played this on a new game+. I never did the expansions on my original playthrough. So I plan on doing that, then doing a new game+ again.

But I have to say I'll probably not do H&S and B&W till after I beat the main game. It would just take away from the feeling the expansions give. Though I plan on getting the Horn of Plenty from the Master of Mirrors on my original playthrough, then on my new game+ I'm going for the viper sword.

Part of me want to do the B&W dlc on my future new game+. Especially enhancing my Witcher abilities and getting that Grandmaster gear. But I don't see myself doing it.

All in all this was an amazing game series and I look forward to the day that they continue Geralt of River's story. I don't expect it to be in the near future, but I feel like they can use Geralt again. Especially if the Conjuction of the Spheres happens again. Which would be a good plot point.

HoS's main quest was so good mostly because it was the only real focus of the expansion. There was the main questline and that was it, the side stuff was pretty meh. BaW is basically the vanilla game but better. If the things about the main game still bother you (big wide open areas, disconnect between main and side content in terms of urgency, etc, etc) then you won't really enjoy BaW as much as HoS because BaW is basically all of W3 just focused in one area.

I have a very positive view of this exp, is great, its maybe too easy to get a bad ending, but not sure if that can be considered a bad point, the only dissapointing part is that i completed it doing everything in 15 hours at difficulty 4, no way this gona last 20+ hours as promised, not even a difficulty 5.

There are 4 things about this exp that could be tweaked:
-Makes no sence that this exp is allowed to be played before the main history line is completed, the letter from Yen/Triss also makes look like the main history line is completed, when its not. And i think there is a line with Regis where he talks about Ciri, that also seems to indicate this, maybe BaW was intended to be only played after the main plot and changed latter, if so i really think it should be after the main plot.

-BaW need final slides just like the main plot, on HaS is was not worth it, but we really need them here, and im kinda hopping they may be added later... we really need to know about the future fate of several characters here, the sisters on the 3 endings and its implications on the country, the fate of Guillaume and Vivienne, the fate of Regis, the fate of Dettlaff if not dead or the implications of its dead, thats the minimum i think, maybe something more could be added.

-If BaW gona be keep allowed to be played before ending the main plot, i think it should be able to change Geralt relationship fate, i know Triss is out of the question, but if ends up with Yen or alone, i think the should be different if you own Corvo Vianco, Geralt and Yen cant move there? Also if alone it has to keep behind a witcher (and very poor)?. I think at least if alone it should be slightly different.

-I think there is a big plothole at the end, if Geralt killed Dettlaff no one ask how he could do it, after all he told several times that only a vampire can kill another vampire.

Well Regis was turned into a bloody smear on the ground, and if I recall he said he would have died of it hadn't been for Dettlaff. So I imagine if the entire body of a higher vampire is destroyed it won't regenerate.
