That may be(never played new battlefield games) I'm with Al. I'll sit on this one and see how it goes.Because EA...still DICE are the perfect developer for this.
I also own BF3 and I dunno what you're talking about there. The only issue I ever had was in terms of the game crashing due to punkbster. We must have got different copies of those games apparently.
Biggest disappointment of 2015 in video gaming so farimho: No SP campaign, no galaxy conquest, no space battles, just the same old boring ground FPS scheme. Basically Battlefield with a Star Wars reskin. Battlefield DLC 2.0 for full price.
Another shallow EA MP-only game. The only interesting thing this game offers is - surprise - its license.
But I guess people will throw 60 bucks or more at EA in masses again. Well, because it's Star Wars.
Agreed. BF3 was a very solid shooter, but after that Dice has had a rough go of it, and it's partly because EA is not giving them the proper schedule for finishing games. Keep in mind they're also developing Mirror's Edge 2. I'm also skeptical we'll get those insane visuals in the final build. We've seen too many shenanigans from devs in that area lately. It looks great aye, but I would be cautious about getting hyped for it. We all know that EA is capable of taking a promising game and turning it into complete trash with all their ridiculous DLC. My personal boycott stays in place.
Yeah, EA really want to annualize it. They want a piece of the COD pie. There is a reason why BF3 did so well and why BF4 and Hardline received so much criticism.Agreed. Logic in 2015:I am glad they are getting rid of SP. The SP in BF 3 and 4 were pretty sub-par at worst at average at best. Those resources could have been used to make the MP even better. Still...the Star Wars setting could have been interesting even in a mediocre campaign.
Yeah, I was a little sad when I read that there will be no space battles. I liked that a lot in battlefront 2.I'll be honest, the lack of space battles at launch is kind of a deal breaker for me. I always preferred it over ground combat..... sooooooo, shug.
Shame, I was really looking forward to this, yes they MAY add it as DLC (Thanks EA) but like alot of you have said, there won't be alot on the disk.
Them textures though...... /facepalm.
Is this what most of the industry has come to now!!!!
Well if anyone is a fan of inner atmosphere X-wing combat or the 1998 Rogue Squadron game then this game is for you!

Exactly my opinion!I just found out that the game will take place only in Empire vs Rebels era, no Clone Wars... this is a joke.
You can say what you wish about the movies but Clone Wars era is so much more superior for the game like Battlefront. The vehicles, weapons, ships, Clone troppers > Stormtroopers (now i want Republic Commando 2) imo are far more superior and badass. On top of that Clone Wars actually had "full scale war". Hoth fight was good, but it doesn't compare to something like Battle of Geonosis or Kashykk. Playing with CIS was also fun especially with Droidekas.
If there is any DLC or expansion that this game needs is Clone Wars but it should already be in the friggin vanilla game!
If the old games had events from all 6 movies why can't this one have it as well?![]()
You would think that after we waited so long for the next BF they would add more stuff, yet they are removing them.
Just think of all the money that goes in the production of the shit-tastic campaigns of BF3 and BF4. Tens of millions of dollars that could have been better spent in the multiplayer, the meat of the game.Exactly my opinion!
And no SP? Wtf?? Actually I never in my life played MP apart from League of Legends but that's a different type of game. SWBF2 is still one of my favourite games when I don't have so much time. I'm speaking of an instant action battle.
Call me whatever you want but Iliked the campaigns in both BF3 and BF4. They were simple, uncomplicated fun.Just think of all the money that goes in the production of the shit-tastic campaigns of BF3 and BF4. They were bad COD ripoffs. CoD-like FPS design should have died in 2010. It's so old and bland nowaways but EA are hellbent on emulating COD. I don't think it is inherently bad but FPS devs are beating a dead horse. The biggest WTF moment was when EA turned Syndicate into a generic COD ripoff and trust me, I don;t say these kind of things lightly. Tens of millions of dollars wasted IMO. Maybe they could pull it off with Star Wars because it's a fresh brand but I don't know... Tens of millions of dollars for a 8 hour campaign is just bloated.Call me whatever you want but Iliked the campaigns in both BF3 and BF4. They were simple, uncomplicated fun.
And Battlefield Bad Company 2 had a really good SP campaign. Just for those who say DICE can't make good SP...
I also don't get that "money could be spent better in MP" argument. That's not how development usually works. It's not all about money.
I disagree. I get that you don't like that kind of gameplay. But others do as well. Actually I found the BF4 campaign better than anything CoD did in the past 5 years...They were bad COD ripoffs. CoD-like FPS design should have died in 2010.
You can say that for many genres. Witcher 3 tries to emulate typcial 3rd person action RPGs of the likes of Gothic and open world games of the likes of RDR. So what? There is almost no real innovation in gaming. Just different compositions of existing elements with different assets, stories and sometimes - from time to time - a tiny new idea incorporated into a game.I don't think it is inherently bad but FPS devs are beating a dead horse.
I don't see how Syndicate is connected to Battlefront. Different developer, different game. The biggest WTF moment was when EA turned Syndicate into a generic COD ripoff and trust me, I don;t say these kind of things lightly. Tens of millions of dollars wasted IMO. Maybe they could pull it off with Star Wars because it's a fresh brand but I don't know...
I don't think so. Game time is not the most important thing in gaming. It's quality game time. I rather have a good, fun 8 hours long campaign than a mediocre 200 hours game in which I mostly do boring stuff and run around from A to B all the time...Tens of millions of dollars for a 8 hour campaign is just bloated.
I think your memory is foggy. I tried playing BC2's SP a few months ago and hated it. It's basically an "on rails" shooter. And the writing isn't funny. And Battlefield Bad Company 2 had a really good SP campaign. Just for those who say DICE can't make good SP...
I think we just have a different taste then.I think your memory is foggy. I tried playing BC2's SP a few months ago and hated it. It's basically an "on rails" shooter. And the writing isn't funny.
