FWIW, I've got the D2D version and it DOES NOT allow you to patch using the normal EE patch.

better to ask the D2D guys about this

I have the D2D version and successfully installed the EE update (I've also successfully installed earlier patches). The patch game seems to run correctly, although I haven't had the time to get very far into it yet (too much to do in real life at the moment)

When i try to launch the game, it immediately stops running, no error messages.

I looked under task manager as the program starts up, and the launcher.exe never even runs. If I click on the witcher.exe however, it runs for a second then shuts off.

Same problem here, but original version updated to 1.4 (after 2 days of struggling with patch download, registration and hours installation).The game will launch (black screen) for a split second but resumes to desktop as if nothing happened.I've never had such trouble with a game before. Everything on my computer is updated and works fine with any other game or programs.EDIT: it works when i disable hardware sound acceleration in dx diag. But what a chore, seriously. The week end is now over, and my game works after three days of hassle. It'd better be good.

What's your Video card? You using any 3rd party control panels liek Ati Tray Tools? You have the latest DirectX? Latest Vid card drivers?

Bandgeek885, ppipp: If you're not getting an error display onscreen, perhaps Event Viewer will have something to tell us about the matter?Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > ApplicationDo you see any Errors in the log? If so, double click on them to open them up and find out what's going on. If it's a Witcher related error (which you should be able to tell based on the date/time entries for a particular error) then it should mention something about The Witcher files. If you do find Witcher-related errors, please post the contents.Also, if you haven't visited this page yet: Getting tech help on the forum please do so and follow the instructions for posting a PCWizard report.

Hello, Does anyone know if the manual for the enhanced edition is posted online anywhere? I purchased the game through Steam and it does not appear to come with the manual. While the tutorials are nice enough, there are areas that do not appear to be covered (levels, etc.) so I'd like to read through the manual. Thanks, Rob
