It would be rather amusing -- for some of us, that is -- if they did spring a surprise early release. I'd still have to wait, no matter what.

Well, I suppose the sooner they release the game, the sooner the Linux version can appear?
Probably it's more tied to their actual efforts of porting the game. Some speculate it might happen in November, together with Steam Machnies official release, but so far CDPR didn't announce anything.
Ach, bad show! I am truly sorry for all our Linux users! It makes my wait seem less burdensome, as I only have to wait for the hard-copy game to be delivered. (Cannot download it.)
If I had to take a guess I'd say the data entry guy who updated things for the expansion pass accidentally changed the release date, but since there isn't an actual game or pre-load data in server yet, steam is treating it as released but giving an error: 'Coming Soon - This item is not yet available'
Steam Release date problem
As some of you would know, Steam says that the game has been released, and lots of people bought the game thinking it would be start to download, they were wrong, the steam says it is for 7 April, and has been like that for 18H, and the "real" one is 19th,
I would say to CDProjektRed to release ASAP, the Expansions that were announced yesterday really made angry much people, even if they understood or not the DLC or Expansion thing, the people do, and later think/ read in this case
It would be nice from CDPR to release it now , or ASAP, that would bring the players an Idea of how the game is, even in a "alpha" state(that actually it would be not), and considering that it should be out now, so we would be playing a game that would be more fixed than some in the launch, also, it would help the people who is thinking in getting the Expansions or not, also considering that the game was going to be released in february, we would have less bugs than some AAA titles right now

. Steam probably did a mistake on the release date, they'll fix it and it'll be ok.
I wouldn't worry about the people getting angry. Usually it's the vast minority that tries to raise it's voice higher in a group of people
