The Batman games are good ports. I'd never play games of that kind with mouse/keyboard anyways so I don't know about controls, but the technical realization is outstanding: Improved textures, added PhysX-support, a decent amount of options (not just low, med, high), well-optimized.

About L.A. Noire: I loved it! It's a very different experience. It's not your typical action game, but a refreshing change! You actually collect evidence, draw your own conclusions, try to read people's faces and gestures (FANTASTIC animations!), try to find out what's true and what's not, plus there's a nice meta-plot about the player character - the only setback is that it gets quite repetitive after a while. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Edit: Concerning the X360 controller: If it's a wired controller, no problem, plug in and enjoy. If it's wireless, you'll need to buy an extra wireless connector from Microsoft. Attention: If you have a play&charge kit for the wireless controller, it won't work - the USB wire is only used to charge, the data is still transferred wirelessly.

I bought L.A Noire on sale quite a while ago. According to Steam I played it for a total of 35 minutes, and the last time I played was about eight and a half months ago. I'm not really a fan, though it seems all right. Graphics are pretty good, but it was a little laggy on my system.

I got LA Noire. Thanks for the recommendations :)

I think I'll wait a while before I actually download it though.

Eh, I wish GOG had all those games, I wouldn't really bother with Steam.

Thanks man, that's what I suspected that it won't play the same on PC. Now I gotta figure out a way how to connect my X360 controller to my PC :)

I caved and bought the Focus Hit Collection. I also bought the Tribes Ascend Starter pack when it was briefly on sale because who doesn't love Tribes?

Aaden and Tommy - thanks for the tips about the controller! I've got the wireless one, so it will take some effort to plug it in.

Got LA Noire too, thanks for the recommendations. I think I need sinking in another age, LA in the 40ties sounds about right.

@Volsung. DRM, rather support GOG and one too many times being told that I can't access my games at the current time. Didn't like having to install it in the first place for DOW 2.

Yeah, I understand. I recently had a couple of issues with my connection and it was frustrating not being able to play the games I payed for. I support GOG 100% with the games they have, and would rather pay a little extra there than a little less on Steam. This is a reason why I did not get Legend of Grimrock on this Steam sale... just waiting for a GOG sale.

Blothulfur said:
Yeah, Arkham City, how is this on PC? Playable? Or another lazy console port?

LA NOIRE at 4$ Here it shows 7.49 EURO. Plus some games are not available in my region. :( Fuckin regionalisation :(

I actually really liked the gameplay of both Batmans on PC. I play with keyboard and mouse and they just feel like any other 3rd person action/adventure game out there. Controls are actually very responsive. The only issue is with the crazy amount of keys on Arkham City which can require extra nimble fingers. I believe if you want to really master the combat and get all medals in the challenges you might have to use a controller, but for most players k+m is just fine. They did a good job porting it. And visually, it leaves the console versions in the dust. I bought a retail version last December (came with an actual comic book! --subpar of course)when it came on sale in Amazon, and just after they patched it to fix the DX11 performance issues. On my system it ran very fast with PhysX and DX11 Tessellation on normal, and detail on maximum. The story/narrative is below that of Arkham Asylum, this is more of a 3D beat-em-up with a cliche super hero theme. But if you like Batman, there is no reason not to play this really good action game, filled with little subtle details suited for Batman fans.

I was overpowered by my addiction to all things Fallout and got three of the DLCs (I already have Old World Blues) plus Gun Runners Arsenal.

Fffffffffffffffffffallout NV is a flash deal at 75% off. Do I get it now or is there a chance it will be bundled with FO3 or something like that?

Also, do I need to play FO3 to understand what's going on, are they connected? I'm considering trying out FO1/2 as well, I have them on GoG I think.

There's a Bethsda bundle right now, but it only contains Brink, NV and Skyrim... and some other game I don't care about.

And I just realised FO3 is 75% off as well! Sneaky flash sale >:[ Thank you for your answer, I'm grabbin' it all.

Well, maybe we can find someone around here to gift the international, uncensored version to you. Unfortunately, I can't because I suffer from the same German nonsense.

Good idea.

Max, I'll do it for you if you want. PM me your Steam name, we can trade or whatever.

(Er, I guess the one in my store is uncensored? It lists five languages and there are no warnings or anything like that.)

Hello. I bought the Deadspace pack, Fallout 3 GOTY edition and Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate edition, all for 75% off! Good buys, I think! Hoping Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II will be the next community sale!

I didn't play it myself, although I liked the first one quite a bit. I heard the second one was SUPER short (even in comparison to, let's say, Call of Duty - it's just about 4 hours long) and the story is all over the place / doesn't make sense. I suggest you inform yourself well and think about it, before buying it - even if it's very cheap.

I've bought so many games during this sale I was about to buy a bunch of copies of The Witcher and gift it to my friends because it's so cheap, but then I remembered that I already did that during the Christmas sale and all my friends who might be interested in it already have it :p I ended up gifting Bastion instead :p

I picked up a lot of games that I was interested in for awhile but didn't want to pay full-price for. I got the Meridian pack because I was going to buy the point-and-click adventure puzzle games on their own and figured I should just get the pack. I also got some cheap backup copies of games that I already own on disc (I'm lazy nowadays and don't like changing discs :p) or on Xbox (there are some games that I got on Xbox years ago before the PC version came out, like Jade Empire, so now I'm getting them on PC instead).

I picked up Assassin's Creed Revelations as well, although apparently Ubisoft's servers are down so I guess it's a good thing I didn't waste time downloading it yet. And here I thought "one-time activation" wouldn't be so bad

I also got Saints Row The Third because my friend wanted to play it with me co-op. I expected to hate it because I don't like the whole "gangsta" thing and I've been intentionally avoiding GTA for years. However Saints Row 3 is fucking hilarious It does not take itself seriously at all and is constantly making fun of itself (and the genre in general) so I find it really amusing so far. I even bought a second copy for my brother so I can play with him too.

I heard the same. I loved the first Dead Space game, but I still haven't played the second one yet. Every time I'm about to buy it, I remember that it's very short and the ending DLC isn't available on PC, then I get angry and don't buy it :p I might get the Xbox version eventually, but I'm not motivated enough to bother right now.

Awesome! I can only vouch for ex-Microids games (Syberia/Post Mortem/Still Life), but they are AMAZING. I love those four more than I love, well, any other game ever. Even TW2 (sorry :p).

Wallet-draining is harsh, yeah, but then again most of us do it only twice a year :) So it's not that bad.
