I was stupid enough to buy the Witcher 2 on steam, and I'm wondering why the patch hasn't been released yet.

Because VALVe is on Seattle, USA. They are all waking up just now... Just be patience.

I'm definitely buying The Witcher 3 on GoG. Their patches aren't 9GB like Steam.

This problem was already solved. Last patch on STEAM was as big as the retail one.

Maybe some people don't give a damn for that excuse because some of us would like to get into the Dark Mode contest. It's already been 2 hours since the GoG version came online for people. You really think for a game that on average lasts 30 hours for most people 2 hours doesn't matter in a contest?

I just hope it gets released today like advertised. I bought the game 2 days ago on steam and i certainly hope they are not making sure their own GOG customers get priority.

Steam had it advertised on their store page that it'd get released today. It might be another hour from now. It's a patch, lets get some perspective.

I'm pretty sure CDP can only "hand over" the patch and has no influence whatsoever, what Valve's process is to distribute it then on Steam.

I'd imagine they would even give it early to Steam, because the downloads for Steam users naturally are distributed by Valve's servers, so CDP wouldn't have to worry about their own server resources being used up. I'm guessing that's why some people who don't have the Steam version can't download it yet, because CDP enables it by region, so they don't get overrun.

Great ANOTHER patch which comes 5-6 hours after everyone gets, or so I assume based on the other patches. Guess it's going to be fun for me to play on Dark Mode for the contest when everyone who doesn't have steam get's such a big headstart.

Last time I buy a game like this on Steam, and by that I mean a game where the developers actually give a shit to give you good and free updates.

That's why you buy it at retail Costin, then you don't have to wait for Gabe to update the stuff :D

Also this. For crying out loud MS updates there stuff at 2:00 am. 2:00 AM! So Steam has no excuse why they are letting steam users suffer.

That isn't that patch, it's the game itself. My guess is you tried to verify gamecache.

Well, it's 23:58 in the UK right now and still no 2.0 patch on Steam......very annoyed, as I bought this game from Steam because they are advertising it as being on Steam on the 29th......which it blantly isn't.
