Steam version c2d when loading episode 2

if playing in fullscreen, the mouse cursor (win white) becomes visible instantly and the loading screen goes on for ages.. task manager states wither2 not responding.

If running windowed it just c2d when the loading screen should have came up, and on the odd ocation it shows the loading screen like above, but with "not responding" and the "working cursor" shown.

It manages to change loading bacground to a fort or something, then it fails after like 1 sec.

Im playing on a Asus G73JW laptop..
i previously had some problems playing the last part of the prologue, but a reinstall\downloadsolved it.
Id rather not redownload 7gb again :/

oh, an loadingtimes are usually 15-45 sec, running on high specs..

It seemed to be uppdating itself yesterday, but i can still load up my savegames..

Help?

No, i can still play all my saves from episode 1 and prologue. but when i load the last autosave it finishes all the scripted dialogue \ movies and proceeds to load episode 2. This is when it crashes, when the loadingscreen image changes from generic episode1 to a fort wich i persume is the generic episode2 loading image.

Is there a specific datafile \ asset folder for episode 2? (my idea was to test if it would be solved by just copying the assets\data from a cd or something like that, provided that steam \ dvd have same filesettups)

Otherwise i have to redownload the wole 7 or 9 gb again, and to be honestly i think its quite unreasonable if i have to download it 3 times++ just to play trough.

Is there any logs etc that would be of help?
