Still gold dragon to hard...

I was hoping with 1.3 patch in prologue, gold dragon will not be that hard especially in insane difficult, what i mean hard is wen you run from him together with king Foltest, i consider this like bug or error, because many time even some foots away from dragon he can still grab me with hes fangs, so it doesn't make seance to press button to hide behind wall wile he is spiting fire and than still be catch.

well i hadnt played on insane but it did seem alot more difacult after patch on normal.Since it was my second play through i decided to cheat a alittle and turned off difacult qte.then it was just a stieght run and the game automatiacly ducks you on cover.made it a little easier.

Never had any problem with the QTEs on this, other than my own inattention. If there's a bug, it only shows up on the machines of an unlucky few.

I found out that counting to 5 before starting running helps me to avoid the Dragon's claw, somehow, even if she shows a bit closer...

My problem with this sequence is the first RMB after start running. I click it and Geralt plus Foltest just stand there right in the middle of a fire breath! ouch! Works fine on reload though only that, Insane has NO reload!

It's just the beginning: learn how to survive.
Also you can read what Dandelion wrote about this adventure in journal :3

Gold Dragon ?

I think that the dragon in this game is a regular dragon who can turn into human form 'cos was raised by a golden dragon.

That's what I get from the dialog with Saskia at the caves (Iorveth path).

I've been on this quest for over 18 hours because I cannot outrun the dragon. I don't know if it's my crappy framerate or what. The most I can get to is the first "duck and cover" and then Geralt and Foltest get thrown over the wall.

The main problem is that it takes ten minutes to reload each time so I spend fifty minutes of loading for about five minutes of play. I still haven't managed to outrun the bloody thing yet even with QTE turned off. The loading time alone really puts me off wanting to play to try and beat it just because it's ten minutes where I'm ending up sitting playing with my ipod instead of the actual game.

If you're having problems with reload, check how many savegames you have and move older/obsolete ones into a different folder.

If you're having problems with the quest. PRESS AND HOLD THE 'S' KEY TO RUN AWAY FROM THE DRAGON. You don't need to keep pressing. You just press it once and hold it down. If you have Difficult QTE turned off, that's all you need to do.

I finally managed to get past the dragon at about 7am this morning (I swear my screams of success must have awoken the neighbours). I'd been doing the S thing anyway but it just eventually worked after too many attempts. I was pretty peeved actually that after escaping that dragon
Foltest gets offed anyway regardless of how much I went through just to save him!

I haven't deleted any save games yet. Can it be done in game? One of my biggest peeves with the first game was that the automatic save games accumulated and following my first completion of the game, I had to delete something like ninety of them! I understand that the save games are there so you can go back and "correct" any errors or complete things you might have neglected, but still...ninety was a bit much! lol.

Oh, as for loading, I dropped my laptop's general resolution quite low and for some reason now the loading is about a minute long as opposed to the general five-to-ten. Not sure why that should make a difference with the loading (I can understand it affecting gameplay, but not loading in general, lol) but at least I don't spend more time loading than playing now :).

No, you can't avoid that conclusion to the Prologue, it's the basic premise of the game.
