Storage and sorting

Has anyone attempted to either (a) increase our amount of storage space or (b) allow sorting of items in the inn storage screen as we are able to in our character inventory?I find it odd that I can move items around in my characters inventory, but not at the inn inventory. This makes sorting ingredients, food, items....rather difficult.Any chance someone could mod this or inform how to do so myself?Also...buying items without the confirmation box...this is especially annoying when purchasing large amounts of items. Just a double click would be nice =)Oh...(I'm full of ideas today!)...when selecting a potion to produce, and then mixing it, the potion selection bar always reverts to the top of the list....making it frustrating to produce many potions quickly as I have to keep scrolling back down to find the potion I wish to make. Is there a way to change this or to make more than one of the same potion at the same time? Thanks again!

Yes a mod for increasing storage would be awesome or even increasing the stack capacity to like 50 of all or 100 would rock ;D

Modding item stacking is pretty simple. If you have already unpacked the bif files then just open up baseitems.2da in the 2da folder and you can set the item stack limit for everything. I did 999 for everything but weapons and armor and it worked fine.

worked fine ? I once tried that, and game crashed every time I had to enter an area with Ekinops inside. Not yours ?

Never had that problem. But about the only thing I got more than 99 of was flint so that might have something to do with it.

The reason you crashed with echonops is because you modified the Ammo capacities. Seeing as these creatures shoot seeds, the modification confused the game, as it was looking for a set max.All ammo based items should be left alone when it comes to changing stacking.

If it's anything like Stalker, which admittedly is the only other game I've really messed around with mods for, you need a file unpacker in order to get to the actual files you use for modding.

Well that very valuable info should be added to the wiki, in the "Stacking mod" page, don't you think ? :)And@Undeadfury :yes, you need UnBif to extract files . Launch software, choose "main.key" in game directory/DATA/ then click "Read key", choose templates, click "extract", select some folder to do so, and once its done, go look into the folder where you extracted the files (should be some _templates_00 ) then edit baseitems.2da with some enhanced notepad. Beware, columns have to stay as they are in the file ! (that's why I don't go on basic notepad, use ConText i.e.)

Argh !I changed baseitems.2da again (didn't used it previously) and modified max stacksize for ingredients, drinks, food and gears only, but game still goes black screen and crashes when facing echinops .. Sad. If your version works fine, could you post it here or send it to me by pm please ?

There's more than just one baseitems.2da. Look for the most current in the patchX00.bif files, where X is currently 1 or 2. patch200.bif does not contain any files. If I'm not mistaken, the baseitems.2da file your're looking for (as of Patch 1.2) has 56 entries, the last one referring to echinops. So anyone not using that is deliberately screwing the game.

Ok... So you've made all the changes...What then, do you put it back into the BIF, if so how, and if not, how do you use the changed files...???

My copy of the baseitems is attached here. Most of the stacking limits have been changed over to 99, and it works fine without crashing for me.

I tried halmtier's stacking mod.. the game crashes at one point - when confronting Gramps (Act 2) of a cannibal and he runs out of his hut, the game crashes to desktop. From what I've read, upon leaving the hut, Geralt will encounter Gramps surrounded by a few echinops. I'm not sure if the echinops causes problems with stacking mods (like previously mentioned)? If you leave Gramps alone, you can safely exit the hut without any problems (plus he gives you the hanged man's recipe).

This is just a suggestion, but rather than mess about altering files that may then go on to make the whole game MORE unstable than it already is......How about allowing Geralt to buy bigger bags, to replace the one(?) that he uses at present... You wouldn't even have to model it, just do it as a script and possibly a few graphics so that you can see what your buying......Each time you by a bag it doubles the amount of space that you have available... and of course the bag would cost more each time you bought one, and would only be available at three or four places within the game (one place per act, one bag per location)......of course as I said it's just a suggestion...;)

Echninops are not the problem. The problem is the wrong baseitems.2da file. Wrong as in old/deprecated. Look for the proper one in patchX00.bif files. It has (as of 1.2) 56 entries, not 54. If you use old file versions, you are asking for trouble.
