Story destroyed me. Left me empty.

+
Went through the main story twice before taking on the final mission.
Currently sitting at 192 hours.

Game's finale hits hard if you dive into the lore, take the time to do all the side stuff, read e-mails and shards.
This is where the title of the post comes in.
I feel empty after those endings...
I miss my NC friends, even though my stay and time with them was so short.
Devs have a great game here but it could be better.
Game could be game of the century if only they expanded on it.
Namely more missions with each character.
Could do something similar to Saints row, where you are able to call a contact to come help you with missions or just hang out with.
Just think it would be a crime for Project Red to leave the game as is.
Game has so much potential.

It's why i like buying games for the most part when there development cycles over an you get the super duper ultimate legendary game of the century voted by 2 magazines you've never heard of edition for £5 that includes all the patches an dlc.

But on occasion, like this, i also like to get it day 1 an just experience it as it grows for good or bad.

Time sure does love to move slowly though, or seem to, when your waiting eager for new stuff

I get that dark outcomes fit in the meta but a happy ending would be nice maybe like a prerequisite for a third option in the endings or something like that. Free DLC Maybe or DLC in general?

I wasn't expecting a fairy tale, happy ending to this story. I was expecting a small triumph or something at least gained at cost. Which I guess some endings do achieve. The Devil ending seems to be the most bleak with nothing actually achieved at all.

I haven't messed with the other endings, but two are essentially letting Arasaka win. So yeah, that's bleak and will leave an empty feeling too.

I guess my other feeling is that only a handful of people walk out alive and while they appreciate what V does, and the prospects of more stories aren't apparently in the offing post DLC.

Yeah you're probably right but who knows? If they start acknowledging the other forums they might just take note of this one too. They definitely have bigger issue with bugs in content and whatnot but one can dream.

it's almost as if they decided to make endings where they can wash their hands of the franchise after a grueling development cycle. Hopefully that's not the case and
V gets cured or you get an entirely new story character in Night City next game

you are 100% right

I completed this game 2 times on the highest difficulty with all additional missions

Welcome to the club mate, It hits harder than you'd expect, you feel sadness, hatred, love and all the rest. I'm on my second playthrough but I'm stuck with the Takemura call bug until it gets patched.

Started a new game like 2 days ago and was left speechless as how short act 1 is.
New V was a Corpo. Basically started the game by meeting with my boss and 5 minutes later V is a nobody and the montage played. Saved the girl from the scavs, met Victor, met Dexter, met Parker, got flatbot and then screwed up my life by doing the heist. I was being slow listening to conversations between NPCs, reading shards, watching the news on TV, etc. I was trying to immerse myself in the world. Then like 2 hours after starting the game, act 1 was done!?

I swear act 2 is just 3-4 meetings with Takemura, kidnap Hanako, 2 missions with the Voodoo boys and that's it.
Could probably do the above in another 2-3 hours? Then that's it. Game over.

For Takemura: Have you tried the work-around the devs sent out a few days ago?

I never updated. The game tried but it kept getting stuck because I was playing the game. Then I heard all the bad stuff and cancelled the install.
Post automatically merged:

You basically mean a proper act one.

Proper Act I, II and III.

Hey,
I finished it today and watched all of the ending possibilities, I guess.

I think I love it as the story "is not about saving the world, it's about saving yourself", so I find the general tone and endings pretty much spot on.

Also, the hidden or purely roleplaying (dialogue) choices are pretty cool - it's no more Q&A, gather and bring, save everyone - it brings more depth, the actual need to think, and emotionally fills in the story on the background.
Tarot cards, cats, (deep) net, AI, immortality,...are such massive topics which bring in the mystery, philosophy,...

Though as mentioned, it kinda lacks Act1 (lifepath, Jackie,...), RPG, choices and at least a few other things.
Also, as the story is so heavily scripted and includes so many time-skips, inconsistencies and plot holes, it felt like I was playing on autopilot :(

What kinda bumped into me is Dex's question.
My answer to it is Panam (and pretty much any other friendly (major) NPC) :D
Something like...put happiness and energy into what you do, learn from and move away from failure (mindset), don't let yourself to be CONTROLLED by...visions?...of others...?

In the end, I would like to thank and congratulate the dev team for making such an amazing and strong game :)

Nice, are you going again?
Not sure about everyone else but many things are making much more sense now that I am on my third play-through.

Maybe. Maybe I will wait a month or three if there is DLC announcement, patch or whatever :)

Yeah, I think so too. But in the current state, it's kind of bad that the bigger part of the game is not visible, as there's too little to do in terms of RPG, living streets, decisions, even main story and stuff... :)
I am interested in what DLCs will bring - maybe there were some concepts of Crystal palace - the space casino?

If this little unfinished story left you empty and destroyed, i think you should really look at your real life my friend.

I think a lot of people also seem to be forgetting the punk theme of the game. It's in the title for a reason.

"Down with the corporations!"
"I'm tired of all these people telling me what to do, just let me live my life!"

In this case, I really felt that Punky push. I typically go for the hero/good guy route and in reality I'm usually the only other person in humanity that has awareness and tries to be polite and compromise, but after getting fucked over by everyone I said you know what?

FUCK ALL OF Y'ALL and took control of what short life I had left. No more Voodoo boys, AND hackerman is dead.

Lol, yeah. I wiped the Voodoos by accident the first time.
Killed them on purpose on my second run because of their nasty attitude.
