Hello CDPR Team and fellow Witcher fans,
I’ve always felt that the story of Saskia and Iorveth deserved a proper conclusion for those who choosed Roche way in The Witcher 2. I’d like to share a quest concept for the upcoming Witcher game (Polaris) that could bridge this gap.
The Concept: In Kovir, Ciri encounters Cynthia (the Nilfgaardian spy). Cynthia reveals she knows how to break Philippa Eilhart’s mind-control spell on Saskia but lacks the power to do it safely. This leads to an unlikely alliance between Ciri, a cynical Iorveth, and Cynthia to track down Saskia and free her.
Why it works:
- Phase 1: Meeting Cynthia in a Kovir port; she seeks protection in exchange for information. - Phase 2: Encountering a hurt Iorveth who is also searching for Saskia. Tension between him and Cynthia. - Phase 3: The climax involves a tense confrontation with Philippa Eilhart. Depending on the player's choice, Ciri can either defeat Philippa in a magical duel or use sharp-tongued diplomacy (reminding Philippa of her debts to Geralt and the Lodge’s precarious future) to force her to relinquish control.
- Phase 4: Once Philippa stops her active manipulation, Saskia is no longer a puppet, but her condition remains unstable. The quest requires a period of stabilization, during which Ciri must protect her. After Saskia's mind and magical essence settle, Ciri can finally perform the ritual to fully restore her.
- Phase 5: Freed from all magical bonds, Saskia returns to her human form. She and Iorveth are finally given the chance to decide their own fate—whether to return to the struggle for a free North or depart for a land where they can finally find peace.
I believe this would be a powerful moment of closure for many long-time fans of the series. Would love to hear the community’s thoughts!

Why it works:
- It utilizes Ciri’s Elder Blood as a unique narrative tool.
- It brings back fan-favorite characters (Iorveth/Saskia) without forcing them into the main plot of TW3.
- It leverages Cynthia’s background as Philippa's apprentice, which was a great detail from TW2.
