strange little monkey/dog animal in the Outskirts and the Fields

anybody know what that thing is supposed to be? I find it interesting that it shows up where Abigail shows up. I've included an image in case my description does not match yours. In djinni, the model is "an_mamun" ... anyone have an idea if "mamun" is some sort of little monster in Polish? or a faerie?plus, when i looked at it closely in djinni -- it seems that a) it is female! -- check the nipples and b) far nastier looking up close :)

Wow. Here I was thinking it was a monkey or some sort of obvious homage to something. :hmmm:

On this enlargement it looks scary  Is it the same lively creature which hops around Geralt (on the screens)? I guess a loooong time ago it was mentioned there is a reference to the shortstories / novels :hmmm:I think it's a crossbreed of a cat, a monkey and a grigg ;D

According to the Sapowski's books, Mamun is a fantasy creature who takes the drunk people off the road. At the Saovine Eve mamuns horribly yell. Mamun is one of the Slavic beliefs.

thanks for that M i k e :)i was quite surprised when i "blew up" the image in djinni and found that it was so nasty looking -- rather evil, really! ... but i do believe it is indeed that same little creature that looks so benign in the game :)

The mamun in the game makes rather jolly sounds which remind me of a flufy toy you can squeeze and it makes the same noises. The lore doesn't fit to the in-game creature. Is it just a gimmick from the devs to make us wondering? :hmmm:

The lore says it takes drunk people off the road. Maybe we should get Geralt drunk and check it out. I've never tried this.

I drank to the limit in the middle of the road and next to the mamun, Geralt felt asleep, then he woke up on the edge of the road. Funny thing, mamun dances around the NPC's as well :)

Actually I am of the deep opinion that that monkey-like creature is A transformed Azar Javed, who is watching. Or is is Geralts Big Brother watching him...Anyway, the picture provided does make the thing look slightly nasty and mean, and I guess that it certainly would make sense if it is a mamun.

So just to be clear, are these mamun's supposed to be helpful (getting drunks off the road so they don't get run over) or malevolent (rolling drunks) ?

I vurtually had this image of three of four little things rolling drunks from the road and dumping them on a pile.Priceless!Iwould suspect that they are benevolent.

I second this! What an awesome (regular or easter egg) scene that would be!

In my head, I've been calling them "monkey-dogs." It doesn't seem possible to interact with one, sadly; I want to pet one!
