Hi I realize this has already been posted, but there was no resolution to the problem. After the intro movie, and killing the bandits in the town, the game hangs at the first cut scene when the words "How do you Feel" appear at the bottom of the screen.I've already sent the mobidiy guy my dxdiag, msinfo, and SWI report.Has anyone solved this problem? or is there a number of reasons this could be happening?I'm running a 3ghz core duo, 4gb ram, 128mb nVidia Quadro NVS 285 (on lowest settings til I get dell to send me my 8800 gtx), creative sb x-fi sound card. Also, XP Pro service pack 2.Any ideas?

Assuming your memory is fine, I would be inclined to blame the video card or its driver. When your 8800 arrives, try this again and see if the problem persists.

Try turning off Depth of Field as well. That's only used in cutscenes and has caused problems for some people.

I can't seem to get past the opening cutscene and the loading screen alone takes 10 minutes (I timed it.). The first time, the dialogue and movement flickered and leapt a lot. When the clip pulls back to show the mountain and valley, the gradients go crazy. Then, Leo grew Emo hair and objects begin to floating in in midair. I stopped the game after that. The second and third time, the loading took so long that my screen saver popped and I got mostly a black screen with every other line of dialogue in the background.I uninstalled and reinstalled after the second time. I DIDN'T load the patch this time to see what happened. The fourth time was EXACTLY the same as the first. Even down to the emo-hair.What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?

Hello!I have just installed the game and I can't play after the first fight with the bandits in the prologue/ tutorial. After they are defetead, one of the guys on my side asks "how do you feel" and the game freezes. No button/ command seems to work (except Alt Tab/ Ctrl Alt Del). This has happened 3 times, until i decided to quit and seek help. What can i do to pass this bug and avoid such future issues?I have installed patch 1.1 and i run the game on an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ with 2000 Mhz, 1536 Mb DDR and Asus A8N-VM motherboard with integrated video :(( I turn off most of the programs to increase performance and set on low or disabled most game features. My system is Win XP with SP2.Can you help me?Sorry if this has been addressed before.

It's probably just because your processor and video card are below minimum spec, and therefore can't be expected to work properly. The patch might fix some of your problems.Bear in mind also that integrated video uses system memory for graphics, taking a chunk off your available ram.Have you gone through the Troubleshooting FAQ?

Try in 1024X768 DoF off, AA off, Grass disabled. If this doesnt work, remove completly your video drivers and install new ones (Should follow the procedure in the FAQ)

Hello,This problem is well known but WITHOUT actual solution to resolve this issue. It's called the 'How do you feel' problem. We should hope that the patch 1.2 resolve something about this, but the fact that actually no one knows what even 'could be' at the origin of this issue...ahem, so it doesn't look good.I'm actually nearly SURE it has nothing to do with processor or graphic card...i've got an X1950xtx graphic card, one of the best graphic card on market. FEAR, Oblivion, all those games turn without real lag full detail on my machine.ShadePS : not at home right now. Can't send any personnal data of my computer. But big lines.. :Amd +3200 64Xp professionnal (with all last updates)X1950xtx (updated) !!!SB44096 pagefile on second hard disk !!!4gb RAM !!!

Not saying you're wrong, but your processor is not supported according to the devs.

About the processor, yes I read that.but..1. It's not that the game can't run on such a processor. It's just that it hasn't been tested.2. If any other player has same problem of 'How do you feel' but with a 'requested' processor..then my processor should not be the problem.Fighting scene at beginning worked fine.Arg, if we just could 'point' where to search.. this issue seems to have a weird origin.Shade

i have the same problem and i can't solve it. the difference is that i run the game on a much weaker system, but since i can get to the first fighting scene, i suppose i should be able to play on.

thank you for your support, i hope a solution comes up soon.as for all the questions: I went through the troubleshooting so i am aware of what sys specifications are recommended. Because the first cutscenes ran really really slow, i changed settings so they would be on LOWEST level in every aspect. If a game can't run on my system, i just doesn't start. But here i get to fight. So the bug has nothing to do with my system.

Yep! I wrote in the opening post that i turn off most programs. I disconnect from the net and turn off antivirus, firewall, antispyware, widgets, messanger whatever. I did it from task manager to be sure there are not left active invisible modules. I even defragmented my disk to increase performance.
