Stuck in 2nd loading screen - Too many texture mods?

Hi there!

I got the problem that the game gets always stuck in 2nd loading screens if I don't disable my texture mods. After launching the game the saves load fine but every future load will end in a loop. I wonder if there is any fix or workaround for this problem. Espacially when changing from one world to another (like from Velen to Skellige) this always happens.

i noticed that this also occurs when you have "too many" custom dlc's installed. Atleast this was the problem for me
 
Yes, mod limit is tied to how many you have of blob0.bundle for mods and customs DLC. You can have approximately 24, 25 blob0.bundle before mod limits.
 
I think the tool does not show the DLCs, even if you point it to your DLC folder, but you can merge manually DLC if you want, with Quick BMS and Mod Editor. It works for me with simple DLC without texture.

Odd. That sounds like a solid alternative though. Haven't hit that limit yet but useful to know nontheless. QuickBMS doesn't play nice with texture mods right?
 
Yes, if u want uncook/cook texture, you can use W3Oven. But it could be tricky, somes textures doesnt like to be uncook :p

Yep, it checks that chosen folder called "Mods" and containing folders names starts with "mod" prefix
When it was developed I didn't think that DLC merging could be actual :) so it does not support dlcs unfortunately
 
Ok, so i try to add prefix for my dlcs, and to move them in empty mods folder, Mod Merger show them, i merge 6 or 7 DLC, move the mod0000_MergedPack to my DLC folder, and it works. Thx for tips !
 
I did not have time to test more, but on the test I did, the few merger DLCs seemed to work fine. I'll try more tonight.
 
Combined DLC, but now the old save is not loaded, require the return of DLC. You can somehow remove this requirement, because technically DLC is in place?

Exactly how it works for me. I have 25 blob0.bundle now and I am also getting infinite loading screen on second load. With 24 blob0.bundle the issue is not present, and with 26 game refuses to start and gets stuck in task manager with ~200 MB RAM and 10% CPU usage and will never launch. Will try mod merger for sure.

I have tried Mod Merger and although merging mods that contain textures is not really possible due to tons of errors and issues, but mods with just bundles merge very easily and quickly. I have merged like 7 mods and the issues with 2nd infinite loading screen is gone. Then I added few new mods and still no issues. So everything works in the end.

Thanks for mentioning this Mod Merger, extremely useful.
