Stuck on the tutorial

Oh I feel like a noob again.

Anyway, figured I'd play through the tutorial just to see what it's like.

Except i got stuck >.<
The fight with the mage and a golem, what ARE you supposed to do?

The tooltip instructed me to use quen (so I did), then use Axii (so I did). Axii controlled the mage and the mage threw a few fireballs at the golem, then went back to attacking me.

Now I cannot attack with my sword (mouse attack buttons simply do NOT work), I can't switch signs (ctrol + click on sign simply does NOT work). I still have Axii selected, so I try to cast it. Except it never works, even when I'm standing fairly close and defintely NOT interrupted. The axii starts casting, then instead of the bright flash of light to indicate it was successful, Geralt just stumbles back a step to indicate it was not successful.

So what are you supposed to do to proceed? Was the mage supposed to kill the golem during the first Axii you cast? I tried this twice and both times the mage doesn't kill the golem =/

The Golem is supposed to kill the mage and not the other way around.

i did not make the golem kill mage, i killed him before golem spawned. Then while i was fighting golem, all the previous opponents started to show again, scoiatel, dwarf, mage. At 1 point all were spawned again. I was fighting them until i finaly died.

Recommended setting: Dark

I have a same problem. Axie sign has no effect at the golem. He still attacks me. Difficulty: dark.

Because Axii just does NOT work >.<

I've tried it again, this is stupidly fustrating.

I'm going to try the "kill the mage before the golem" appears tactic Electrocide. But still... I wanted to go through the tutorial as it was meant to be (i.e. following all the instructions/prompts) =(

And where does it say that u need to kill mage with an axii golem ? that was just an example with the gargoyle. Gargoyles aren't golems...

U know what i did. Before i enter red circle, i place all traps over the entire Arena.. haha imagine that. I think 10 winter traps and 3 fire traps...Theres no place where to put them when im done, everything traped I also spend my daggers on every opponent, bombs etc. I use signs the way i want to. All of the things tutorial showed u is how it works. How are u going to defeat ur opponents depends on u. It cleary says, that the dificulty is determined by the number of enemies killed, not by how u do it.
