Stuttering on consoles in cpu demanding places.

+
I'm experiencing this issue on PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series S in performance mode. Sudden frame drops in places where the CPU is under a lot of stress. For example, in front of the mega-block where V lives, or at the roundabout in Dogtown. Or other places with lot of NPC. The frame rate drops are small and very short, but consistent. So, it's very annoying. This can be seen in the frame time graph as a spikes. This is due to the processor, because in photo mode everything returns to normal.

This post is just to raise awareness of this issue.

Just covering the basics:

1.) Is the console placed in a position where it can breath -- about 4 inches of open air on all sides? CP2077 will be a demanding title; overheating is possible.

2.) Are you noticing any slowdowns like that with other games, or is it only CP2077? Even if the slowdown is not as bad in other titles, do you notice anything?

3.) Is the problem consistent? Meaning, will it happen in the same areas/scenes every time, or does it seem to come and go randomly? (Answer this one on a per-console basis, as the different systems may encounter different hurdles in different spots.)

1. This definitely isn't about overheating. This applies to all three consoles I own: the PS5, PS5 Pro, and XSS. They're all practically new. They're all placed in a well-ventilated area.

2. Other well-optimized games run without issue. I'm currently playing "Horizon Forbidden West."

3. All the problems occur in the same places. Wherever there are a lot of characters, like the roundabout in "Dog Town" and "City Center." This happens on all platforms. The frame rate counter shows small but consistent drops. This significantly disrupts the smoothness of the game.

Great, sounds like it will be easy to re-create. It's probably just streaming too much data for the crowds. Send it in to CDPR Support here:

^ That's for Playstation, but you could include that you're seeing the same behavior on Xbox. If you can indicate specific spots on the map where it happens, that will help, especially if it happens in the same spots on both Xbox and PS.
