Subpar playstation Dualsense controller support on PC steam for witcher3

+
Hello, Witcher 3 community, and developers. I've recently played The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on both PC(Steam) and PS5, I've encountered some challenges with the DualSense controller on the PC version. I'd like to share my experiences and seek advice from fellow players and developers.

DualSense Controller Issues with The Witcher 3 on PC

USB Connection

  1. When launching through Steam:
    • DualSense is not recognized correctly in-game
    • Haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support are absent
    • Xbox button glyphs are displayed instead of PlayStation ones
    • These issues persist regardless of Steam Input settings
  2. When launching directly via the game executable (DX12):
    • Correct PlayStation button glyphs are displayed
    • Adaptive triggers function properly
    • Haptic feedback is limited to generic vibration, unlike the PS5 version
    • Steam's quality-of-life features are unavailable

Wireless Connection

  • The controller is only usable with Steam Input enabled
  • Xbox button layout glyphs are displayed
These issues significantly impact the gameplay experience for DualSense users on PC, especially when compared to the full feature support on the PS5 version. Currently, those of us with copies on both PS5 and PC face a dilemma: choosing between the superior graphical fidelity on PC or the full controller support on PS5. Ideally, we'd love to have both. I would greatly appreciate any insights, potential fixes, or workarounds from the community or developers. Has anyone found a solution that allows for full DualSense functionality on the PC version, similar to the PS5 experience?

What I know for sure is that, for some reason, the haptic feedback appearing while riding the horse has not been ported from PS5 game version. Which is sad, because the effect is quite detailed.
