Subtitles off

As far as I can tell you can't turn if subtitles. Whether I want to it not I wind up reading them and would rather have them off for a bit more cinematic experience. Any chance of a future option to disable them?

This is simply not true AFAIK. You can always turn the subtitles off in the language menu (at least on PC). The only exception is a few cinematics (3 max throughout the game) where the subtitles are hardcoded for some reason. Anything in-engine does not have to have subtitles.

On/Off option available in "Language Menu".. took me a while to find as well

yep it's true, to disable subtitles you have to go into 'Language' option and turn them off. Who would've thought huh ? cheeky devs. Be careful though, sometimes you need the subtitles on to understand certain characters in the game. The 3 ugly crones in crookback bog are nigh on impossible to make out clearly, also the evil tree spirit in whispering hillock can't be heard clearly either once you're in dialogue with it

I can no longer even come close to playing with subtitles on. I'm American - English version of the game - and there are so many mistakes in those things that it drove me crazy. I offered my services as a free-lance editor, but every mention I made of it being anything other than "fan feedback" was pretty much ignored. Which is funny because I have about 130 mistakes all listed in a text file that they won't get now. A super bummer. Hopefully they have someone working on them.
