Sudden dice poker bug

Hi all,

this is pretty weird bug and even after browing internet for a while I have not found anyone who encountered it.

I played Witcher 2 twice before now and experienced no problems.

I am currently in Flotsam, went to play dice poker with the monk and all was ok. But when I start playing with the tournament guys, suddenly game does not allow me to throw second roll. It acts as if I had not chosen any dice to throw and proceeded with entering Space. And now it does in every game of dice poker.

I have no idea why this happened.

PS: Going back to the earlier save does not solve the issue.

As an avid Dice Poker player, I have to admit, I've never experienced this bug before. Which version of Assassins of Kings are you using? It may be an error in the mini-game's code, so, although a bit extreme, I would suggest a complete re-install would probably correct it (just keep your save-files separate.)

The latest one. 1.5, I think it is. Installed Witcher 2 only yesterday, want to play both before finally starting with W3.

Funny thing is that it worked. Even in this game. It just one game decided that it will not allow me to roll second time and it stuck at that. The "Thinking" text appears at screen for about a second. Choice of the dices should follow after that, but nope.

Still maanged to become Flotsam dice champion even with that handcap.

It was probably an error when you installed the game again. Did you have to download it again for that installation, or did you have the installer already on your machine? (By the way, congratulations on becoming champion, even with a glitch!)

I have a box copy. Installed the game from the DVDs and than autoinstaller proceeded with downloading all 11GB of updates and later installed them. No problem encountered. Neither is there so far anything else wrong with the game. Just this little thing. Somehow during the playthrough game must have modified the dice poker minigame and remove the second throw option.

No idea how.

That is strange. Just to check if there's a better solution, if you haven't already, you might go ahead and contact support. They're rather busy with Wild Hunt's issues at the moments, but it's still worth a try: http://en.cdprojektred.com/contact-support/

I have submitted it through tech support, but I hoped that perhaps someone had experienced the same issue and have a quick fix.

Will see how it goes. I like to finish every quest in RPGs I play, which also means dice poker.

To be honest, I don't think you'll get any answer from tech support other than to try reinstalling. It definitely sounds like a problem with the game files. You should try that first.

Ok, so I tried re-installing.

And nothing. Problem remains. Going to previous save results in nothing as well.

Interesting is that if the game of dice poker ends in draw, I can throw for the rematch, game prohibits from re-throwing only at a second throw.

After further more reading and testing, seems that only solution to this bug is reinstall and wipe out all of your saves.

Obviously, I will not do that, but perhaps someone will find it usefull when it happens. Still, no idea in the hell why that happened.
