Dear CD PROJEKT RED Team,
For Cyberpunk 2, I would love to see an optional cooperative mode that allows two players to experience the world and the story together.
Cyberpunk 2077 is not only defined by its combat and missions, but especially by its atmosphere, characters, choices, and the feeling of truly being part of this world. Being able to share that experience with a friend, a family member, or a partner could create an entirely new level of emotional depth.
I am not suggesting an MMO, a mandatory online mode, or a traditional live service game. The single player experience should always remain at the heart of Cyberpunk. The cooperative mode could instead be offered as a completely optional feature that can be enabled or disabled at any time.
One player could open their game world and invite a second player. Both players could then complete selected quests, side missions, or perhaps even experience the entire story together. This would make it possible to explore Night City as a team, divide roles during combat, and discuss important decisions together.
During major conversations and story choices, the host could still make the final decision. The second player could follow the dialogue and perhaps select a nonbinding response that shows the host what they would choose. This would preserve the narrative control of the host while still creating the feeling of experiencing the story together.
Different playstyles could also make the cooperative mode especially interesting. One player could focus on hacking and stealth, while the other specializes in direct combat, technology, or support. This would not only allow players to complete missions together, but could also create entirely new tactical possibilities.
For me, however, the greatest appeal would be the shared experience itself. Exploring a fascinating world like Night City with someone close to you could make many moments feel even more powerful. Players could be amazed together, laugh together, discuss decisions, and create memories that extend beyond the game itself.
Such a cooperative mode could not only keep Cyberpunk 2 engaging for a longer time, but could also bring people closer together. Friends and family members who have previously experienced games beside each other could finally enter this world together.
My personal wish would therefore be:
A completely optional cooperative mode for two players that does not replace the single player experience, but expands it for those who choose to use it.
Cyberpunk should remain a strong, personal, and story driven experience. But the opportunity to share that experience with someone you trust could make Cyberpunk 2 something truly special and unlike almost anything we have seen before.
Thank you for your work and for taking the wishes and ideas of the community into consideration.
Best regards from Austria,
AETHER Cosmic Gate ®
