Suggestion for the CD Projekt RED to make a game of Drakar och Demoner

I will start to say that I realy like CD Projekt RED and their dedication to make awesome games.
And I really looking forward to play Witcher 3

So I have a suggestion for the team and that is to make a game based on the fantastic good Swedish fantasy role-playing game "Drakar and Demoner"
More info can you find here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drakar_och_Demoner

Today the earliest rules and games plus monsters books are free content to download here:
http://www.riotminds.se/spelen/tiden-innan-trudvang/

Here you have the free monster books for those games:
http://www.riotminds.se/downloads/OLD/07.pdf
http://www.riotminds.se/downloads/OLD/18.pdf
http://www.riotminds.se/downloads/OLD/33d.pdf

Those Pdfs are written in Swedish but its only to translate them and I know that you have atleast one Swedish team member also.

I mean you have if I remember right atleast over 8 different elves races. Its like LOTR but much more diversed world with tonnes of fantasy monsters.

Here are a trailer based on a short movie of the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV0GKOJUPBA

This could be the super games of all games for the RPG genre.
Cheers from Sweden

I have to say that DoD is badass, thanks for sharing :)/>

I would not mind if CDPR does a Nordic-style fantasy RPG like what they did with the Slavic-style Witcher series, would be really awesome :)/>

By the way ... the film looks badass :)/>

Good call. I think this is the manner of game they could do well to implement. I can read the Swedish bestiaries, but my knowledge of Swedish folklore is so lacking that I haven't been able to figure out what is distinctively Nordic about the setting.

Is Neogames AB the current rights holder?

Trevligt med lite Svenska, häftigt filmprojekt. Synd att jag missade visningen i Lund!

As Guy N'wah wrote I can't really see anything that unique about it, seems like a rather typical take on fantasy (even if there is 8 types of elves). I would much rather prefer a game grounden in ral norse mythology or just scandinavian mythicism. I have high hopes that the peoples of Skellige will be more Norse (I can see past the horned helmets) than theese type of characters usually are. I think you could make a great game based on midgård and norse mythology. I have yet to see a game that goes beyond the topless berserker in a horned helmet slaying monster after monster.

Yeah if the fantastic team desided to make a game of this lore world it would be fantastic awesome. Its like LOTR but with tonnes of more monsters, the monsters are not only from the Nordic old religion and mythology but from all over the world and many can also only be found in this DoD game world.

Hi there Iam little unsure who owns the right for the game but I think its Target Games or RiotMinds. But maby you have right but it must be easy for CD Projekt RED to look up.

Yeah there are many monsters from the nordic old religion and mythologi but its also many other monsters from mythologies from all over the world and some can only be found in these games />)

Cheers

Tackar och jag får säga det samma />)

Well the great thing with this game is that it has tonnes with monsters and epic characters you can play. Not only from the Nordic religion and mythologi but also from all over the world.
With this game the CD Projekt RED would realy have the freedom to build up a world exaktly as they want themself.
It also has a realy nice advanced role-playing system.
And if you want a northern touch of the game you only add monsters the fantasy world from the monster books that are correct for that world you want.
So you can make the games as you want it yourself.

Wouldn't be better if they could just create their own game?

Recreating old books and games limits developer to how far they can go, you need to follow the rules. Why does CDPR have to always pay legal rights to do something that can be done much better! They are wasting thier talented staff!

What if the artists and designers could do things their own way and write their own story? Let them show us what they can really do!

It's easy to tell somebody to do that when it is their money and not yours. It's a much greater effort and a much greater risk to develop a title that has neither a background nor a following. Try doing that without sufficient risk capital for a game that must have AAA production values, and you'll most likely end up like Curt Schilling.

Well to make good RPG you need very much talent and also of course invested money in to the game development. And who can make better RPG then CD Projekt RED today? The answere is none.

And those that decide to make a game of this games worlds with its written adventures or invent adventures themself will realy have access to more or less the ultimate RPG monsters and rules.

I practically grew up playing this. Just like with Dungeons and Dragons, however, the quality fluctuates depending on which edition you're talking about, but overall, the lore and the world remains consistently good. If CDPR would want to do another licensed RPG, with a lesser known IP, it's not a bad idea to look at this, I agree.

I'd love somebody to make a crpg that utilises the richness and depth of the old Norse eddas and sagas, whether it's this or something else. Doubt it'll happen though.

Could be fun with a game in norse mythology setting but i would prefer if CD Project created the setting themselves instead of making a game in existing universes like they do, i mean i love their games but it would be fun to see CD create everything themselves regardless i think it would be a good game either way.

Well the nice thing with this game is that you can create your own adventure. So the only thing you need to do is to stick to the basic gaming rules in this game.
Take a look at the monsters books pdfs I linked to. Its very epic monsters and creatures plus you have Dwarfs, Elves, Orcs, dark elves and so on.
Cheers
