suggestion [ remove RP mechanics from lower difficulties ]

ok guys so i gave the game a try and it went like this :

- played for 10 min in WHITE ORCHARD and UNINSTALLED it because of the FAST TRAVEL restriction which forces u to ride the horse to a Fast Travel Point so u can use it

- but all is not lost !! ... i hit google as hard as i could and found a mod that removes the FAST TRAVEL restriction , on the nexus forums

- reinstalled - played for 3 days until i reached the quest " Brothers in Arms " quest where i realized that because i was using this mod to " bypass " Fast Travel restriction i have broken several quest chains

- but all is not lost ! ... hit the nexus webpage and downloaded a save file so that i can play New Game +

- after 2 days of speed running all the previous quests , strategically using the Mod that removes Fast Travel restriction to not break quest chains i have arrived back to Kaer Morhen where i have to " Help Yennifer with her Megascope " in the quest " Disturbance " .... sadly the NPC is missing .... and i am 100 % sure it has something to do with me using the MOD

Conclusion

- sadly as much as i want to pay you for your effort in making this game ...i can't , because it's the mechanics in it are too hard to swallow

Suggestion

- on the easiest difficulty try to remove " hardcore RPG mechanics " , in this case " Fast Travel restriction to appeal to people who are more casual

( optional )
- give infinite gold to merchants
- remove horse speed restriction everywhere

One thing I hope them to do is make running in town cost no stamina. I can run half an hour no problem, let alone a mutant monster slayer. Why force us stop running 3 seconds every 20 seconds?

Use werewolf decotion? You can run from a map side to another without loosing stamina if you don't end up in combat mode.

you can use the mod fast travel from anywhere, just don't use during combat or when traveling with other npc's
i use it, no problems nor bugs

It is a poor idea to severely limit running distance out of combat in the first place. I should not drink potion for that.

I have to point out that Geralt can run for ever; it's sprinting that's limited.

Merchants can be modded to have at least hundreds of thousands of gold, and the horse speed restriction can be modded away as well.

To me reading the first post is somewhat amusing as what are here referred to as 'hard-core RP mechanics' would not have counted as such ten years ago, perhaps even less.

I used to play Ultima 7 and 8 and there was no 'fast travel' at all. Morrowind did have fast travel, but the places one could travel from were more limited than in The Witcher 3: you had to go to a dock with a shipman, go to one of the Silt Strider ports or enter a building of the Mages Guild. Large swaths of the island Morrowind was set in could only be travelled on foot.

I can't remember what the case was with merchant gold in Ultima 7 and 8 (not that really you needed any gold in Ultima), but the amount of money merchants in Morrowind had was often so limited that they could not pay the full price for the more exclusive items you had in your possession. The only way to get around this was to have long trading sessions with a merchant crab or a merchant scamp (a kind of daemon), both of whom you would generally only find with a walk-through or if you explored all of the map.

This doesn't help much, I know, but it does illustrate how what we expect from an RPG can change over time.

Well.... I recommend playing some stupid dumb shooter which has not annoying complexity like an item menu, alchemy and crafting systems, open world and exploring, story and interesting talking, strategy, planning, intense atmosphere and immersion and documents to read and other "annoying" things.

And play more "straight forward games" instead of games with annoying open world, story, immersion, and no fast-paced-enough-dumb-stupid-nonstop-hollywoodaction but great immersive gameplay instead which involves sometimes riding a horse for 20 seconds to get to the next part of the story or to another fast travel point.

I recommend trying Gears of War or Max Payne or Halo for some minutes after installing....... :D (with unlimited weapons trainer to avoid annoying reloading and annoying running-over-ammo-packs for an even more straightforward and more fast-paced dumb unrealistic gameplay)
