No doubt about it! As soon as Jackie is dead, if you decide to hop in a vehicle and drive all around the entire map you'll get bombarded, as you put it, with so many calls and new messages that it is truly overwhelming. There is not a whole lot of cohesion in this either. My first playthrough, I was getting phone calls from people whom I had no idea who they were or why they were even calling me. Then through the story I later find out that some of these people I've had business with in the past, etc. and yet when they first called me they introduced themselves like it was the first time. Take for example Padre who is clearly seen as a fixer you deal with in the opening cutscene with Jackie so he knows who you are and everything but if you just start driving into his general area on the map he calls you up as if its your first time ever talking with one another.I just feel like i am being bombarded by everything after an event triggers something, then 10 things happen at once. There are a lot of things that are keeping me from being immersed. I love the city, the look and the main story. The side characters and bigger npc's need more depth added.
Don't even get me started on the fact that all of the side quests/gigs/jobs/heists/encounters are scripted and will trigger when you get close to them. The dumbest part about this is that you will drive past a gang/cop shooting gallery and then go back later, maybe even several days later and they are still going at it in an all out firefight. It's CD Project Redikulous.
