Now to the matter at hand...

So, I'm seeing a couple of threads every couple of hours since the official response from CD Projekt arrived regarding the "nudity bug". It isn't a bug as you can read here: Official response. All threads seem to be getting closed (don't close this one too, guys, please?), so I decided to open another but with a different tone. A suggestion, a petition.

What follows comes from a mature person that has a healthy relationship for years, so take it with moderation and not as a rant.

We have a mature game in our hands, filled with graphic violence, drugs, alcohol and sex. And yet, we can't take a shower naked and we can't look at our own junk while walking around naked in our own apartment. We can't take naked photos either.

Sure, okay, I can live with being forced to wear underwear once I leave my house, or even auto-equipping my last used gear once I leave my house, that would be fine. But omg... it's just so ridiculous that you allowed us to customize our characters at such sexual level only to see them spinning in our inventory! It's a non-sense, seriously.

This isn't a game breaking mechanic for me, but it sure is immersion breaking. After a certain mission, you wake up dizzy in the shower, looking at the floor and you see yourself wearing trunks (if male V), this totally broke the immersion for me. Up until this moment, I didn't really care that I wasn't able to see my dick when naked. Is not the necesity to see my own junk, it's the fact that a person doesn't get into the shower wearing underwear... and I'm sure you agree with this but you were forced to reduce the nudity during gameplay. There's no other explanation.

The combination of all of this with the fact that you promised the game would feature full nudity without any kind of censorship just really confuses me.

If consoles can't have it, fine, but my dudes.... you own your own platform... GOG and Steam is totally okay with nudity nowadays and adult games...

You made an inclusive game in which you can play as trans people, your NPC's dress like whatever they want, there seems to be no kind of inhibition or censorship, and yet and I can't... look at my own naked body....

Why are there only two NPC's you can interact with to initiate sex? Isn't the whole city cramped with prostitutes or what? I don't really understand it.

For me the reason is more than obvious: censorship again. When you put ONLY two NPC's that you can interact with, far away from the main story and 1st moments of the game, you "hide" those NPC's.

Imagine if you were able to hook up with any prostitute during your first visit to Viktor's (main plot progression). That street is filled with prostitutes, yet you can't really have sex with anyone. Why? These prostitutes don't really act any different than the two that you can interact with, (the ones that are far away, hidden from main story) they would invite you to their place and that's it.

I'm 100% sure the original idea was for you to be able to initiate sex with any prostitute <is prostitute=true> and allow players to interact with them. Not so hard... and VERY easy to censor.

Since you declared that the underwear "during exploration" is intended I have been pretty concerned, not only because it makes no sense, but also because the message you are trying to give as an enterprise is unacceptable. There is no censorship for other characters during sex scenes, but there is censorship everywhere else, which conveys a message of nudity being only sexual. This goes against the inclusivity, the freedom of expression and the "transhumanism" you said before release you were wanting to promote. Being naked during sex but not during showers, times alone and doing non sexual things is outrageous for these exact reasons.
Furthermore, I don't really think this is intended as at first release the game included nudity "during exploration", which was immediately patched. Additionally, before the release you promised the game would have nudity. The unused genitalia creation and breast creation (which doesn't change anything as breasts are resized with clothing) gives evidence that nudity was going to be another feature. Nobody realizes after releasing a game that they "forgot" to put underwear to the main character. You can't change your mind about the final product's characteristics after selling it. Also it makes no sense that the character looks different in the inventory than in the actual exploration section; I have played many games and in none of those have I seen this happening.
I sincerely hope you keep your word and revendicate your convictions.

The game is sold for 18+ people. So censor of any kind about nudity is absolutely ridiculous considering the fact i can literally rip someones head off with my mantis blades or the fact i can rocket launcher them to spread their insides across the floor.
Also on many side quests you can find corpses of people who look like someone gutted them alive and ripped their insides out for you to view with no amount of censoring anything. But nudity is where we draw the line?

It just doesn't make any sense.

I can see that all children are disappearing from the photo mode so it must not be the reason for the censorship. Must be another one. Even if they do not plan to allow nudity, I really want to know reasons, just so curious. Because we can see genitals on the character screen (xbox), I doubt that it is because some PEGI or some XBOX restrictions.

This was already brought up in an already closed thread. For censors and content regulators is not really the same to look at your character from a distance and only be able to spin it around than being able to zoom all in in drone mode.

This type of censorship was already applied by Square Enix in FFXV, where you can't interact with female characters in the character viewer.... But that is just way more sexist, conservative and insulting than what CD Projekt has done. The censorship in this case is applied to both genders, not only female characters.

I trully believe that CD Projekt was all in to deliver a trully mature game with full nudity like Conan Exiles by Funcom, but then, content regulators told them to back off with that... It's really the only explanation.

it comes after the patch, day 1 on PC doesnt has those censorship, they even toned down those advertisements with exposed tits now covered in Bikini, also the poor bathtub guy in the first mission

Hey everyone!

I see this thread has grown quite a lot, so I'm here to dispel any doubts - lack of nudity (outside of the inventory) is not a bug, this works as intended. If you undress V, they will always have underwear in FPP and photo mode and any other cases outside of the inventory menu.

No need to submit it as a bug to our support

This is unacceptable, This is suppression of free-speech and expression. The above listed was a comment made by a Dev(i presume the title isn't listed). Completely unacceptable, Then Kotaku reports that there removing the excessive dido's in the game, okay, if you didn't want adult theme's in you game why did you lie to everyone through tell people through marketing that such kinds of "activities" were in game? at this point, your just censoring sexuality, and you know damn well that was a selling point for this game, I hope that the Cyberpunk Dev's realize how important the sexuality and theme's of such in the game are important to individuality. and those who PAYED their hard earned cash, for this game, that is broken on launch. I hope Cyberpunk2077, understands that a minimum before the game, the censorship is downright disrespectful and unwanted by the community. Now for the rebuttable, Excluding the buggyness, i can understand (in a very small degree, like one percent, im trying here) why the nudity and the such would be censored, its a big adult rpg? game, that has pre-orders? which means everyone who purchased the game consented to being 18 or older? even though we know that's not true, GTA V is uhh, just not giving a damn on that same principal, but the video game, to deal with augmentations, of the body and self image, is. i assume by logic, that the Dev's are being forced to censor. Nobody censors their game so suddenly with intentions of nudity and sexuality, especially during a fiasco like this becasue they want to (talking to you Alicja),unless they cant figure out a way to run the game uncensored and uncut, then why not ask the agony Dev's, like i suggested to them, "raffle" off a prize of an uncut uncensored Cyberpunk2077 copy, they figured out the rest. Now even though this is a rebuttable to my own statements above, you said there would be sex in the game, and nudity, at a base line, us men glued our eyes onto that, not as focus point, but becasue we are men, come on.

I want answers on this, and not a locked thread that people cant reply to, i want the honesty and openness CDProjektred Dev's (and no the social media group hired to take hits for the dev's and speak for them) i would like to hear directly from you, and if anyone else has a complaint against what i said, educate me on your stand point, im waiting patiently, and listening to all.

Has CDPR made a statement why they have cut the mature features after release? Regarding a developers statement that the "actual bug" isn't one, it's working like intended, I assume in the time from game release until patch 1.04 the nudity was "bugged"....?

Before 1.04 I was able to see my own character naked in first person/third person in Photo mode, like I created her in the creator. I saw her naked in the mirror. She was naked in the shower.....etc, the censorship setting was off and the nudity was working like CDPR featured it before they released the latest patch.

In my oppinion...nudity worked as intended before the change came.

When the nudity was possibly "bugged" before, why there was no patch note where they adressed the bug.

My hope, they include it again and let the player decide what he want to see or not......like before with the "working" censorship setting.

But I would like to see an official statement why they made these cuts after they released their game.

also they need to comment on the mis advertisement and whether they will bring back the cut content. I can literally see placeholders all around night city, e.g. the metro stations

I'd guess it's because of photomode. Full nudity combined with the pose system is probably not something CDPR want's to have out there.

Compromise would be to always have underwear in photomode.

Generic black underwear was added all over the game. In the Afterlife bar the people in the tubes of water dancing have it, dead bodies on tables have it, and the guy in the screen shot has the same generic black underwear.

Now for that screenshot. The guy just got out of the shower. He was still dripping wet in the animation, and is Johnny's friend so is not a prude. The robe is open just enough to see his junk and it is clear as day it was indented to have no underwear. This is just one expample.

The game has been censored to hell. And its annoying..

Sure, it is a novelty to allow us to customize our character down to their genitals, but other than this it serves no other gameplay mechanic (this is what RPG do btw).

You should be grateful that you can see some tits at least, note that in countries like Japan, you are not even allowed to see a nip, they have a strong censorship.

Just give it time, and modders will surely release working P and V, but please just stop flooding these forums with this shit, its getting ridiculous.

We can all definitely tell that wearing boxers wasn't intended at all...
They look like those boxers were created over night with some patch, they look incredibly disgusting so yeah, CensorPunk 2077...Sex advertised everywhere but when it comes to playing V I feel like 10 year old me, browsing my dad's playboy magazine...
But of course...guts everywhere, female bodies being drastically cut in scavenger places and kids are jumping (don't know how's the game called in english) with guns...I mean...yeah, if this is what they originally meant by being the most mature game ever, fine
