I just wanted to report my considerations about how PEGI and ESRB work, I know that feature works as intended (even if it's wrong to me).
Also, as mentioned, there is already a nudity thread, here in Suggestions. Multiple threads are not encouraged for the same topic.
Yeah we wouldn't want to break the corporate rules on a game about cyberpunk.
Moderator: The topic has been addressed already in the thread mentioned. The subject is not a technical issue. Players may continue to politely request that it be changed; however, as it has been confirmed to be an intentional design choice, there is no guarantee that it may change. Please, keep feedback respectful.
Assuming that censoring the game ONLY outside the inventory Is pointless, PEGI rules are less strict than ESRB ones. Why can't Cyberpunk 2077 also work like Conan Exiles? I really don't understand...
It is funny, At the begining of that threat "(BUG) No nudity in first person..." I told them it is not a bug but intentional and that they rolled back on their promises for "reasons". So many people disagreed and continued to post that it HAS to be a bug and so many theories about it as well.
This is so happy/sad moment to be right.
Also really bad for CDPR, they either lied all the time or they just changed it. Not sure what is worse.

It's just the principle of the thing. I genuinely have no idea why they bothered to make it an option. 99.9% of games don't have full frontal nudity in them. I never found myself bemoaning that Geralt wore drawers or Shepard had underwear.
How many times was "customize your bits" brought up in the lead-up to the game? I wasn't expecting a 3D sex simulator, but I just genuinely wonder... why make it it an option and then only have it enabled on the inventory screen of all places?

Because it WAS going to be an adult game. But then things got cut cause certain people in the industry decided to complain. Is it no wonder there is only 2 joytoys in the game and no real one night stands anymore?Why so many strange design choices? Why do we get an option to turn nudity on or off? This makes no sense at all.
CDPR stopped listening to gamers and started listening to journalists. Not cool
Indeed, it might seem like a small thing for some. But it was a lie nontheless. One that we found out as a casual reply in a forum thread, not even a proper statement that look we know what we said, but we had to do this because of this and this...
And after all the dissapointment with bugs, cut content and story, small little lies like these just leave an even bitter taste in the mouth. Especially since I do care for the game and wanna believe that they will deliver what was promised. But signs like these signal otherwise.
I also wondered this, they said sex and sexual themes are aboundant in Night City. Yet only 2 JoyToys and that is it.
Something happened and no longer care about gamers I think.

Have you noticed how tame the game is and how it barely feels like a cyberpunk game? it insinuates a lot but shows you nothing of consequence. A cyberpunk game without gore/violence or even nudity isn't a cyberpunk game. The only violence you see is some random stuff you'd see in any regular game.
And the only thing they would have to do is IGNORE it. So what if 100k people cry about something on Twatter when 8 MILLION pre-order their game? Twitter is IRRELEVANT.

Just read the polygon article where they see you will see a lot of nudity but now turns out they just self-censored the game.
There is nothing wrong with calling them out on their own bullshit. There would only be an accusation if they didn't themselves said there would be such a thing as nudity. I for one won't be buying any future games from them if all they care for is being politically correct.
I agree, problem is the people who are hired as ''Marketing Experts" are people who only listen to Twitter or are themselves blue checkmarks. Plus people who do marketing NEVER KNOW OR UNDERSTANDS THE PRODUCT THEY ARE SELLING. Believe me I have fired 4 of them...
