Sunset Wanderer needs a nerf

You are missing one of the most important aspect of your suggestion. You are basically saying "He goes tall and there are all kinds of tall punish cards", but you are missing the point that, the opponent has to PLAY a card to counter this card which just comes to board for free. Your argument would make sense if Sunset Wanderer comes to board and skips the turn.
and you are missing a point, that every unit that removes Wanderers o resets it to 1 pwr, is more powerful and grants points advantage.

for example Bloody Baron - a perfectly versalite card with big body - a complete power swing.

same for Morkvarg Pirate, or every witcher, even like Axii - an autoinclude in Skellige control nowadays.

so - the most powerful control Skellige, or many control/tempo Northern Realms, already autoinclude at least 1 card, that completely obliterates Sunset Wanderers points

You still need to (use your turn and) play the tall punisher, while the wanderers just wander on the board. If you count a baron as a positive counter you disregard the card your oponent plays in turn on your baron. If you have to use your turn to counter a card your oponent plays for free you still lose on the trade.

same goes for kambi. or any other.

basicly SSW is a growing roach. free stuff on your board.
still need an example?
classic Lippy: play Totem to pull roach. opp plays sweers, yoinks roach, makes 9 points in counter of a free card, still loses to totem. get it?

What really needs a nerf is kolgrim. I'm boring of 99% of games playing against noob op double kolgrim decks that are literally uncounterable when they are combined with the wanderers + renov spell.

You must be joking. Kolgrim decks suck. You can counter him so easily with literally just a couple of cards, sometimes depending of faction even a 5provision bronze. Kolgrim/token nerfs killed the archetype. He is trash nowadays.
 
I believe that neural cards in general (not just sunset warriors) take away variety and fun from matches.
one way to make content all would be to insert a new modality where neural cards cannot be used
