Suspect Vicent Meis

I`m a perfectionist, so i want to to everything by the book. I`ve read over the internet that you can get 100 exp if you talk to guards near Shani`s house, about salamandra, Now the problem is, when the hell should i speak with them, and give me that 100 exp, every time i speak with them all i get is "get out of here witcher, we can`t speak about that, captain`s orders". Any help? I`m at the beginning of the investigation i`m suppose to go to the wherehouse, Should i speak with them after i bring respose to raymond from the prisoner and didn`t went to the wherehouse, or before that?

I think the XP information is out of date. But you do get updates that allow you to finish "Suspect: Vincent Meis." There are 4 in all:

Encounter Salamandra in the sewers.
Talk to the guards at the gate near Shani's house. This gets the "we can't speak about that" line, a character update for Vincent Meis, but no XP.
Talk to Raymond, who tells you Vincent Meis disappears at night. This leads to the encounter with Salamandra outside Raymond's house. Grab some fisstech and save it for Jethro.
Talk to Jethro, who tells you the Professor was released on bail, paid for with money that came from Vivaldi's bank. For some fisstech, he'll tell you more.

Then do the job at the warehouse and talk to Vincent about it in the morning. Pursue the question of how come the Professor was released, and accept Vincent's answer that he had to. He will tell you about Salamandra's attempt to take over the fisstech trade and give you the City Guard signet ring; this closes "Suspect: Vincent Meis."

So, they`ve misplaced that 100 xp? There is actually no 100 xp, except more information about Vicent`s character?

  • Extra XP: There are 400 XP available for finding 4 clues to Vincent's innocence. These clues are also starting conditions for the quest:
    • Salamandra awaited me in the sewers. They knew I went down there to fight the cockatrice. I need to find out how they knew.(100 XP)
    • The guards have clammed up. Mentioning Salamandra has become a taboo. (100 XP)
    • Best to speak with the captain during the day. He's hard to find at night. (100 XP)
    • The Professor escaped at the last instant. Someone paid a lot to arrange that. The transfer came through the Vivaldis' dwarven bank. Really clean work. (100 XP)

The one in red i am talking about, can`t get that information out of guards.

There is no documentation of XP that is authoritative, current, or even accurate. This is at least in part because the game has changed with different versions, including many and extensive changes in the EE.

So observing that you get no XP for getting the guards to tell you they won't talk about Salamandra (I just did that, from a save where I just got out of the sewers) trumps something you read on what is not actually an "official" Wiki.
