Switch 2 Gets Damaged Save Files From PC Through Cross-Progression

+
Before you say anything, yes, I followed all the steps in the "How to use cross progression" guide. Both versions of the game on Switch 2 and PC are 2.31 as per 10th of March 2026, which is exactly when I'm writing this post.

The Cross Progression works fine and saves can be transferred both ways. I started playing CP2077 on Switch 2 and then decided that I want to continue on my PC. Cross Progression worked fine and I transferred my save file to PC where I gladly played for a few hours on end. Then I decided to keep both platforms updated and uploaded the new save file from PC into cloud.

Then I checked on Switch 2 and... I saw what you see on this attached screenshot. "Save File Corrupted". Is there anything I can do about it? I can still upload files normally from Switch 2 to PC but not the other way around. What could be causing this? Thank you for your help in advance! If this could also help the issue, I bought CP2077 on Switch 2 via American eShop and on PC it was bought via GOG

Hi,
To be sure, on your PC, are you using or ever used mods? If yes, it might explain why your save appear as corrupted.

Maybe you tried, but knowing the save uploaded on CDPR server is just a copy of the last save created on your PC, are you able to load this save on your PC?

^ This. (If you used mods on PC at any point, I'm afraid there's nothing we can do.)

If you're trying to transfer a vanilla save that was made a long while ago (read: several game updates ago,) then it's possible that there's some version conflicts arising. Be sure to load the game on the host device using the most recent game version and re-save it before trying to transfer it to the destination device. Even then, there's a possibility of unique data hiccups developing if a lot of updates have occurred between the "then and now."

If it's a fully up-to-date, vanilla file working on one device but simply not recognized on another device, you can contact CDPR Support directly.

Nope! Bought the PC version just yesterday and immediately stumbled upon this, so no mods

I don't think so. I bought the game on Switch 2 in October 2025 and really started playing only in February 2026

And yes, I am able to use that save on my PC and play it freely. Sorry for dividing the answer

Ok, so if it's not already done, try to create a brand new save on your PC (do not overwrting an existing save) and wait until it's uploaded on CDPR servers (checked cloud icon on the top right if I remember). Then verify if it also appear as corrupted (or not) on your Switch 2.

PS : The game didn't receive any update since months, so if both version are up to date, both version should be the last and the same, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Already did that, multiple times and by different means. That is, a manual save, a quick save and an autosave. Switch 2 always downloads the latest one available and each time it's corrupted

Annoying :(
If you didn't, I suggest to directly contact the support for help. There is no dedicated category but this one should be fine ("contact us" button)

Just to discount one minor possibility, I don't know how Gog works but I bought the game with Steam. Once the game is shut down it can take a LONG time on PC for the save data to be fully uploaded. So if you're shutting down your PC immediately the moment you've stopped playing, it might be worth checking if letting it be for a few moments after you've exited the game helps.

I'm assuming you don't have phantom liberty on only one machine but not the other (no idea if it would make a difference but it might).

Yeah, I always wait for the sync to end. Yes, it's a bit longer, but what can I do. And yeah, both of the machines have Ultimate Edition, meaning that Phantom Liberty is present on both.

Thank you so much, will do! I'll report here when I receive feedback from the support

So, uh... After a prolonged emailing with support, we got to the point that I kinda omitted, but I guess it was crucial to the entire ordeal. Since I currently reside in the Russian Federation, some of the services appear to be unavailable from here. I used VPN to access CDPR servers on PC and a proxy server on Switch 2. Somehow the save made it through from Switch 2 to PC, however, it couldn't go backwards just because living in this place sucks ass :c Thank you everyone who waited for the answer on this thread!
