True indeed... but I (personally) could never be bothered with bombs when a similar effect can be achieved with a strategically placed Igni or Aard + Wolf.Pain... ahh, pain effect simply ROCKS, especially when you inflict it with Igni; their screams and writhing makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

I have a question about powering up signs. Does the strength of your spell increase gradually as you power it up, or are there just two levels of power: non-powered up and powered-up version? In other words, if I right-click and hold to power-up my sign almost (but not quite) to its full power, will I get a better effect than if I simply right-clicked for an immediate effect? This concerns me mostly because of the way the Yrden (trap) sign works. If I use a regular version of the sign, it leaves a nice trap on the ground for the enemies to trip on. But if I power it up completely, it blows up around me, doing something bad to the enemies, but leaves no trap (and I don't want that). So, do I gain any advantage from holding down the right mouse button for a while without finishing the power bar, or might I just as well do the same with a quick single right-click?Thank you.

Can't say anything definite about Yrden, Axii or Quen, but here's what I observed with Igni and Aard.As long as you don't wait for the sign to fully power up (Geralt makes a sweeping hand gesture and crouches a bit, and his left hand glows with either lightning or fire), you get the sign's "base" form, with strength adjusted for power-up. So, both an instant Igni and halfway-powered Igni produce a "wave of fire" effect, but the halfway-powered Igni will inflict more damage.Fully powered Signs always produce the "upgraded" effect, i.e. Igni creates a long-distance fireball, Aard creates a 360 degrees shockwave, etc.

Hey everyone. First post - first question. :)I was wondering about one talent. I couldn't find anything in the forum about it so i'm asking now - Brawn, 4th lvl silver. Says "Endurance consumed on attacks -25%.". Does this apply to signs?

"Talents Stacking? No, the talent bonuses are not cumulative."O,shit, I fet a strong pain in the brain and heart [lungs too] , fuck my noobness. I did not know they are not stackable. As I was looking at the talents I wondered about this but still I take all of them-now I see it is wrong [ex.: I took partinado I + % damage if enemy-incinerated, but I did not level the igni sign enough in that time, so I did not use it much. This means I wasted a skill!! I should have taken the II skill only. Now I get it) o_O I love this forum.

Bumping this............ (hey is there nothing more to talk about in the forums, witcher 2? )If im rigth about the talents then there should be enough to fill up the skill three completly if u disregard all the signs with anything but bronze.

You have to hunt lots of monsters.I have finished Chapter 2 at lvl 28 on hard.Got to lvl 40 in Chapter3.If you get to that point early in Chapter3 the rest of the games quests will get you 50+ without trying.

hi, i have a little question:when you collect some talents, you can upgrade your skills to a higher level, but sometimes when you dont have all the skills from the first level skill, you already can go to the next level. So is it necessary to collect all the skills from the first level if you already can go to the next skill level?hope someone can help me...

Merged your thread. Please try to use the search function before starting a new thread. No you don't need to collect all talents of the current level to advance, just the main talent. The others enhance that particular level.

What's beautifull about The Witcher is that there is no right build. If you like magic, it's ok. On my first run though the game i spamed only Igni all the way to the end. With very satisfying effects i might add. On my second run through the game i used only swords. Equaly satisfying. It really doesn't matter where you put your talents, there is no bad place to put them. There is no useless skill(including the group style skills). There is no ultra difficult boss for whitch you require some particular skill. It's really a miracle of game design this game.A skill tree that really wraps around your style of play no matter what that style is. So, truth be told, this discusion is less usefull then a skill discution in the Diablo 2 forum for example.

dont know if anyone else is having this problemok, this is my second time playing the game (but not completing as my saved games got deleted so no spoilers please) and after killing the hellhound i either forgot to get its soul or i never got the formula to make the hellhounds soul potion. either way i have a problem - not getting any silver talents. am now near the end of chapter 2 and (unlike last time) am not getting any silver talents each time i level up. I've maxed out everything on bronze talents though, does this mean i have to start again or is there some other way Geralt will start making them?thanks in advance
