Talents - info, recommended [SPOILERS POSSIBLE]

+
Well, at the moment I can't seem to get level 2 in either Intelligence or Dexterity - everything above level 1 is permanently greyed out and I have no green dots in either Intelligence or Dexterity. However, I seem to have no trouble at all in taking level 2 talents in strength and stamina, or any of the steel/silver fighting styles. It's puzzling the heck out of me because when I played this game pre-Enhanced edition I was already gathering herbs halfway through Act I... I can't think of anything I might have forgotten to do this time around. ???

Sounds strange - from my knowledge of games (technically) there should be the oppurtunity to assing talents to all trees or none, if it is the way you describe it, the game should most likely crash, as all talent trees should use the same basic code as it would be to much work, to program several times the same code. So I guess, there might be still a chance that this can be a "user mistake" (no offense intended), and that some level 1 things might be missing. Maybe you could upload screenshots of your four mmain attributes (strength, intelligence and so on?That might help, but I must confess, I'm almost out of ideas.

Apologies for stating the bleeding obvious, but have you taken level 1 in Intelligence or Dexteriry, because until you do I don't believe that you can take level 2??

Is it me or lvl4 Igni (with -20%endur) + 25% endurance regen + 50% endurance regen + Own = EXTREMELY POWERFULL?I mean, I was casting 5~6 ignis before running out of endurance, and after running around for 3 seconds I was back with 100% endurance. I actually only used my sword against the Ifrits (damn fire resistance) and the GM (to avoid luring the ifrits). It seems like an overpowered mechanic.I've only tried this in the Epilogue with that weird buff you get so I'm not sure this works as well as I think I do.Also, I used this in normal mode.

'User mistake'...... ummmmm, yes, that about covers it..... *hides face in hands*When my next 3 talent points became available I scrutinised my Hero Screen most deeply - deeper than I have done thus far - and discovered something. That just because I had the Alchemy skill (which was given as part of the plot) this did not automatically mean I had already earned Level 1 Intelligence....(Also applicable in Real Life, it would seem... :-[ )...So I clicked on the Level 1 Intelligence that, up until now, I thought I already had - and lo! Ker-ching! Problem solved. I am now officially claiming my title of Berk of the Highest Order and retreating to a corner to see if I can count my fingers without moving my lips. Apologies for time wasted and grateful thanks to all who assisted.

I am beyond level 15 (Lost count on my level, but I am at Skilled Witcher), I still get 3 bronzes per level, and I think 2 silvers (I am not sure about this because I sometimes safe some). But I am sure one thing, you still get bronzes token after level 15, but might stop at some point.
Yea i can tell too that u get 3 bronze talents from 15 lvl and 1 silver...But what i'm interested in is...can u trade 10 (or maybe 100) bronze talents into 1 silver ??

I was having a look at the exp progression for levels and came across the talent acquisitions per level. Bronze eventually drops off to 0, but you get enough of them (w/ mutagens) to acquire everything. Silvers you get enough of to acquire the majority of the useful ones, golds you have to pick n choose a little more.

I pretty much maxd out str, int, and dex in those orders. After that I maxd aard and igni and swords as well. Max igni + intel + tawny owl + maribor forest means you can chain cast like 8 360 degree Ignis. Ain't nothing living through that. Power up Aard is also pretty fun to use since it does a 360 stun and if you've done enough damage you can just watch finishers ;)

yes i am in act 3 and it seems like for quite a while i have'nt been able to put any talents to signs.i have the first 2 levels for a couple signs filled but the rest are greyed out.i noticed that it says "specialist" or other descriptions by the circles.is there some additional training or other perk needed to advance the signs in the hero section?thanks

lvl 3 signs require Silver talents (unlike lvl 1 and lvl 2 signs). You will only get silver talents when you reach lvl 15 or from some potions.lvl 3 signs also require Intelligence (lvl 2 or lvl 3, cant remember).make sure you have Silver talents and the required Int lvl.

HelloI've reach level 7 now and I would like to know:1) Do the skills stack? I mean there are skills in Strength, Strong/Quick/Group Steel/Silver Styles which give +20/+25% to Damage/Pain/Knockdown and Stuff...For example if I get Crushing Blows I and then get Crushing Blow II will I have a bonus damage of +20% + 25% = 45% or only Crushing Blows II will take effect giving me only 25% and ignoring Crushing Blow I?2) How do I check the damage I do with the Witcher's Sword in each style? The weapon itself says the damage is based upon the styles3) If I reach 15 level I will start getting Silver Talents. Does this mean I will stop getting Bronze Talents?4) What's the level limit?5) It is possible to get all the skills?

1)Damage stacks, but not exactly the way you think.Strength bumps all sword attacks you do, but each level of crushing blow affects that particular attack only.So for instance, if you decide to increase a strong steel to 2 early, crushing blow 1 isn't that useful .. as it increases damage of the initial 2 swings, then you do the level 2 attack 3 times.Of course, you'll want to take both anyway, but early on, there are better talents to buy.2)You can't, really .. not without a mod.Fighting the same monsters with different styles with floating damage on is the closest you can get.3)No, you'll keep getting bronze talents for some time.4)There's no level limit as far as I know, but you stop getting talents past level 50.5)No, it is not. But it is possible to max out all the stuff you use regularly. For instance, I don't bother to buy charge-up axii, or chance to inflict fear with igni.

sword style is damage dealer, swords just add another multiplier so if f.e.steel strong style level 1 inflicts- 1st attack: 10-12 x 2 = 20-24, 2 -> number of hits- 2nd attack: 15-17 x 2 = 30-34- 3rd attack: 30-32 x 2 = 60-64then sword with +40% damage wil multiply damage from hit by 1.4.when you hit your enemy you always see damage of each hit floating up.

Just started. Chapter 1 and am at level 4.So far I have NOT been able to put/spend any bronze talents in the 5 magic catagories. When I mouse over any of the level one catagories, I have no option to "spend" my talents.Have only been able to use talents in the sword skills and the str/dex...etc. attributes.Am I missing something?Help would be appreciated.TXS.

You have to learn a magic skill before you can put any talents into it. You should learn Aard sometime during Chapter 1, but you won't learn the others until later on in the game.

Places of Power teach you the signs when you touch them for the first time. Later in the game they give your sign a buff.

I wanted the Talent 'True Grit': it appears to be a bronze talent. I noted it says 'requires a mutagen'.So, I made and imbibed a Frightener's Vision Potion which although it allowed selection of a bronze Talent, would not allow selection of 'True Grit'.(nOTE: On one website it said that 'True Grit' required a Silver Talent point, so I made and imbibed Hellbound's Soul. Again, although it did allow selection of a silver talent, it would not allow selection of 'True Grit').I cannot find anything on the net - looked on various sites and wiki.I am level 13 and not yet had any Silver Talents when levelling up.In the strength section the talents selected so far = Strength Level I and Strength Level II, plus Regeneration in the level II tree.)I did wonder if it was that you could not get True Grit until you had Buzz, but in the level II tree I was able to select Regeneration without having Position, so it does seems that you do not have to work along the tree taking every talent, but can pick and choose. So, what have I overlooked? It is usually something obvious but for the life of me I can't see what ???Thank you in advance if you can help ...... it is driving me barmy :(
