Searched and couldn't find any help. The manual says you must go to a Place of Power to learn a new sign. Where are these and how do you learn signs? I am about 15 hrs into the game and have not found a way to learn a new sign. ???

Places of power dont teach u new signs..they just enhance your current ones by 100% for a bit. Places of power only show up when u get close to them as a magic swirling blue thing. In Act 1 u get the aard sign right at the start by touching the stone in the prologue bit. To get the next sign (igni) you have to speak to Mikel and do his quest in the Crypt. There is an igni stone in the Crypt that you cant miss where you learn the igni sign. Dunno where you get the others yet, ive just started Act2.

1st tier is +15%, 2nd tier is +20%. So do I get +35% or just +20% and the 1st one is wasted?
Those don't stack with each other because they only apply to the combo strikes on that tier. For example, Deep Cuts I adds 15% to the two strikes Strong Silver 1 gives you. Deep Cuts II adds 15% to the second two strikes, and Deep Cuts III adds 20% to the last strikes.I believe a dev answered that one, but I never got a complete answer to whether the attributes stack; eg, does Strength 5 give you only those values listed in the last node, or is that added to all the values of the previous nodes?

Its easy enough to test, no? Especially if you were to use a trainer program :D(well, its even easier to just have an act 1 starting save where you have 3 bronze to use and can put 1 into str, then another)

all values are added

Really? It seems reasonable with some of these values, like a combined +Damage% of 50. But for Vitality it seems almost overpowered, with a whopping +400 at Strength 5. Then Intelligence giving a potential +120 Sign Intensity explains why Igni can become so insanely destructive.

Ok so I finished the game very easy... so i recommend full str, dex and endurance as full fighting styles + Aard sigh (stun, knock-back, disarm)And i was lvl 40 on finishing the game so u will have some extra bronze talents to play with ;D

I think Vitality is +100 at str 5 on hard difficulty.Am I right in thinking that on igni the only thing that student/specialist/master etc does is give more accuracy for casting at distance?

hey guys finished up the rpg i was playing so really getting going on this game now. kinda a bit confusing, i wish it had a manual instead of all the extras the EE came withanyway im runnin around the first town doing quests for the priest and some side stuff. 2 questionsi dont get the mutagen thing... some skills say they require a mutagen... whats that mean? I can make the frightener mutagen now but when i take it all it does is give me a bronze talent point, i cant spend it in the ones that say they require a mutagen. can someone explain how this works theres no info in game on italso, theres a whole lot of locked doors int he surounding village.. the spell you have says it can blast down walls and locks but it doesn't work on any of these... how do i open them?

the mutagen thing refers to special potions made with unique ingredients (you probably have one unique ingredient right now in your inventory -- Frightener's eye) ... each one of those makes one (and only one) potion -- you'll get the formulas as you progress through the game) and drinking those potions grants you those talents you can never allocate them, you have to drink the appropriate potion to get each one.there are a lot of locked doors ... sheds and outbuilding will never be accessible, they are basically just 'decor' -- there is no way to open those. there are some locked doors that you will be able to get a key for but there aren't any doors that you break down -- you break down other sorts of barriers (like the pile of rocks when you got out of the lab at Kaer Morhen) :peace:

hmm i dont get it then, what skill does the frightener potion unlock it seems to just give me a generic bronze skill i dont see a special skill it unlocks

frightener potion unlocks the skill which you can't unlock any other way. only mutagens unlock these skills, bronze talents don't.

WHAT skill??? thats what im asking. im getting that thats what you guys are saying it does, but it does no such thing. I make the potion, drink it then go to rest and it just gives me a regular bronze point i cant put it into any of the skills that say they 'require a mutagen'

uhmm, sorry. generaly mutagens unlock skill which you can't unlock any other way but some just grant additional talent to spend. frightener potion grants you free bronze talent.

ahhh, ok that had me very confused. so if its one that will unlock a skill it just does it automatically, an there ARE other ones that just do talent points in general instead then, right?

Yes, some mutagens give free bronze, silver or gold talents to spend on whichever skill you want.
