The Eternal Battle @ Dark Mode

The first fight is freaking impossible and extremely frustrating mostly because CDPR made some stupid choices, first bad choice: after you die you have to enter the mist, skip the dialogue and watch the draugir form, this takes like 15-20 seconds which adds up a lot. The second and most annoying bad choice is the fact that the fire sets you on fire when you aren't even close to it and then you stagger and one enemy will hit you atleast one time...so god damn annoying. Any tips?

It is a difficult fight on Dark, more so if your character has neglected to develop swordsmanship. But it is by no means impossible. Your Aedirnian wraith is still the fastest character, and he can hit really hard. I've used two different tactics successfully in Dark mode:

1. Pick off the Kaedweni wraiths one by one, then go after the standard bearer. There's a risk of getting caught in the fire with this one, because you have to run to get the wraiths to chase you. Don't run far, then turn on the first one to follow you.

2. Go straight for the standard bearer. You'll get beat on by the Kaedweni wraiths, but a well developed swordsman can get a quick kill this way.

Have you considered parrying? I got past it on dark mode with parrying. The first fight is the hardest, compared to when you fight as seltkirk. Just use parry a lot, and strike when the time is right.

Yes, parry and riposte are lifesavers in this fight and when you are Seltkirk. You avoid a few blows and can do telling damage on riposte. Just watch our for the riposte moves, which can make Geralt do things like somersault into the crowd of Kaedwenis.

Btw Guy, I didn't pay a close attention to it, do you remember whether it uses up vigor when you parry as the wraiths or not? As I recall, my vigor decreased, but I'm not really sure

Yes, it does consume Vigor. You'll get only a few clean parries, so you have to make your strikes and ripostes count.
