the Faithful Friend quest can still not be completed in 1.08 .

how come Piranha Bytes is able to make it ?

Risen 3, even if you don't like the game, the graphics, the combat system , has a LOT (really A LOT) of quests, often mixed together.
guess what : the quest system was PERFECT from day ONE. no broken quest, no quest glitch.

Ah, and Risen 3 NEVER crashes (if you except the hyperthreaded-hexacore bug in the 1.0 version).
and had probably 5 or 10% of The Witcher 3's budget.......................

NO Elder Scrolls game had ever such a broken quest system either.

hell, what am I saying ? : Ultima Underworld (1992) was already near perfection.............

Listen, I have reported this issue too several times but what you are doing right now is exaggerating as hell, especially when you compared it to TES games - I love them but they have way more bugs than TW3 plus CDP Red is doing a better job patching them than Bethesda.

Risen 3 could be bug free for you but not for all players because I could say practically the same thing about TW3 - no quest other than Faithful Friend was bugged for me.

Well, you're right, I'm quite angry now.

Ok, Arena and Daggerfall had buggy quests (like the lycanthropy cure), and you had to wait for the Battlespire 1.5 patch to finish the game because of saves not loading in the "Chimera of desolation" level (and this game was buggy AS HELL - but had also a very interesting scenario and was very very difficult) but starting with Morrowind (and Redguard before that), the QUEST system was pretty strongly built. I never had to start a game again, and was always able to go on with my saves created with the 1.0 game and to do (almost) everything I wanted (main mission, quests, faction quests, get weapons, stuff, interact with people, etc...). Yes, Morrowind and Oblivion crashed (Morrowind randomly, and Oblivion often when RAM was saturated and you tried to enter a new zone), but again, the quest scripts are OK. (mostly)

I do NOT say that there are absolutely no quest bugs in the TES games, but TW3's status, after 8 patches released in ONLY three months (never seen that), is CATASTROPHIC.

I chose Risen 3 as a recent game example. Gothic 3 has zounds of quests, is extremely long, and also here, the quest system is excellent. (I could say the same about the 1st Risen too)

What is "amazing" is that we get a game here where patches not only fail to correct things, but also add many new problems that didn't exist in the first place. (Faithful Friend is bugged since the beginning, I know)

they need to fix fps issues for most players

lol. To say elder scrolls quests were less buggy. haha.

I've completed the game, and a ton of side quests, not encountered a single quest bug except for "hey you wanna look at my stuff" - which was quickly patched by fans (and now officially too).

vs Skyrim:
mmm no less then 20 quests bugged to where I couldnt complete them normally. (and dozens more had minor bugs)

And I don't mean just side quests either. Even major main quests - well the DLC ones especially are heavily broken. Heck just starting - the very first quest to get to Sollsteim and start Dragonborn would not work for me, and its a known issue lots of players have, and bethesda didnt patch it, and arent patching skyrim anymore.. Without console commands id essentially not even be able to play there most major expansion.

Only advantage skyrims quest system had was you could fix all of the bugs with its powerful console, so no need to wait ages on patches. A quick alt tab to uesp and your back on track.
Witcher 3 has a console too, but it doesnt seem to have any quest related commands, plus the devs dont endorse it, which is pretty foolish.. Would save them a lot of trouble and complaints if they supported it and listed commands to fix quests bugs like these.

I actually quit playing those two games (talking about Skyrim & Risen) because they were bugged. The modders community did the job and fixed Skyrim, quests, UI & graphics all together. MODDERS man.

Given the immense world and the complexity of The Witcher 3's quests, I think the devs are doing a great job at supporting their product. I personally got only 1 quest bug : Cave of dreams which doesn't get it's "Failed" flag. That's all.

It wasn't bugged for me In fact, I have just completed it again in my NG+ playthrough and it was fine again.
