It's actually more of a giant triangle at this point. My slaves are really lazy.
Camera settings please. And a suggestion on what I can do about this (a suggestion that doesn't involve ranged weapons, preferably)
Shutter speed was at 1/200, aperture at f/7.1, ISO at 1000. Very much a snapshot, though, as evidenced by the whole thing leaning to the right; those are actually the settings I used for the last thing I shot (but there were lots of synced camera flashes and the sunrise was crazy bright, so not changing the settings was educated laziness).
Um... what about a suggestion that involves a ladder and melee weapon? A lot of times you can deal with problems like that and drive yourself crazy trying to remedy them, or you can just move to a better location and/or aim the camera somewhere else. The latter is the better option 99% of the time, honestly.
That being said, I would totally try a wide aperture and something like
this. Obviously that wouldn't achieve what you're looking for, but... heart bokeh! I mean, if you're going to play by that ugly light's rules, you might as well force it to make awesome shapes for you.
(And why is it out-of-focus when I used manual focus on an "infinity" setting?)
Because only things at infinity are sharp when you focus at infinity. The foreground can tend to become blurred, and depending on your aperture, you can end up with it
just a little out of focus. It's hard to tell with the way the forum resizes pictures, but it's likely that the clouds in the background are sharp. With clouds like that, though, you'll probably want to focus so that the foreground is nice and sharp. I mean, clouds like that don't really convey sharpness, so the trade-off of focusing at infinity in a scene like that probably isn't worth it.
Today for instance, I have prepared all sorts of things from scratch including a batch of burgers. We grind the steak ourselves as well as grinding all the fresh spices and other ingredients. (They are damn good burgers.) I have also baked Scones, Lemon Drizzle Cake and a massive slab of Rocky Road.
Drool.
I want. Please catapult to America.
