The General Videogame Thread

Probably the guy who did the calculation of profit for the first Total War Battles game. :troll:

By the way, what's so horrible about it? It's not like their core team is investing time for it, it will probably make profit, and at first glance it doesn't look all that bad for a mobile game.
Not having played TWB:Shogun, the only thing that scares me is CA - who are notorious for charging quite a bit of money for scraps of new stuff - doing free-to-play.

That's what I'm worried about: Micro-transactions.

The times are strange. With the newly released Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Saphhire, many expected the iconic "expansion" from Emerald to return, The Battle Frontier, but it didn't :( However, in-game the Frontier is being constructed.

Either its a series of cruel easter eggs or Pokemon is going to have DLC.

Looks like Volition have been on the LSD again!

Weirdest. Gaming. Thing. Ever.

By the way, you really need to work on your sarcasm skills. :p

Well I am terribly sorry, o revered Grandmaster of Sarcastic Remarks, that I seem to be unfit to live up to your high standards of sarcasm.

By the way, didn't notice describing what that picture looked like for someone absolutely clueless about Mortal Kombat (there go all my bonus points I might possibly have had with Reptile...) was sarcasm.

P.S.: Your recent attempts at sarcasm in the Bear didn't go so well, I hear, Grandmaster. Ironic, isn't it?

Oops! :wallbash:

Sorry if I sounded a bit like a dick, I never would insult anyone as I just like joking about. I guess it's my style of humor that's the problem.

Don't worry about it. Never felt insulted for a second. It was all in good humor. Thought I'd show you what it looks like when I'm sarcastic.

Now, let's stop the offtopic discussions and have a cup of mead in the Bear instead.

You're a very scary man, Ramsy. If you were a videogame I'd definitely play you!

After some of the GOG \ Steam discussion in the general forum here, I'm wondering - how many of you prefer Steam? I suspect I'm in the minority that likes it more for the social aspect of it. The DRM never bothered me. And I have a juvenile and irrational side that just enjoys seeing my game statistics. Pointless, I know. Does anyone sympathize? I'm even considering buying TW3 on Steam as well (currently I have it pre-ordered on GOG) and the only thing stopping me is that conscientious voice in the back of my head telling me not to throw money around, seeing as I already purchased it once. But that voice is quieting down lately. The temptation is strong.

@eliharel I wouldn't blame anyone for prefering Steam over GOG. It's THE digital gaming store, but at the same time it's so much more than simply that. Achievements, reviews, integrated community, streaming, sharing and so on. At this point, Steam pretty much IS pc gaming. People who stick to DRM free games are sadly a small minority - but I do have to say I prefer the GOG simplicity - Steam is so freakin' massive now, I get confused whenever I open my client

Anyhow, I just tested my PC with 3DMark Fire Strike and bam, 9460 points, better than 89% of all results. Wonder how long that's gonna last :p Besides that, I tested it will all those games I had and played, but never at maximum settings. Battlefield 3, Crysis 2, Bioshock Infinite, Starcraft II, The Witcher 2 - 60+ FPS everywhere!

Now that I see what I missed, I wonder how could I stick to my laptop for so goddamn long [lack of money that's how hahaha].

How flattering! May I invite you for a little Barbecue, my dear friend?

While we're preparing the meat, we could exercise pronouncing the letter 'A' you missed in my name. I heard saying it out very loudly and for a long time is good training.
