What an interesting, thoroughly entertaining interview. Thanks for posting.Their lead level designer seems to get this, the idea of making exploration itself the reward. It's the allure of a cave, some ruins, or getting to the top of a mountain.
@Kudos: Interesting. Is it coming out DRM-free? What about Linux?
they did, several years ago. it was called six days in fallujah, but media shot it down for being disrespectful, the publisher for the devs pulled their funding as a result.About time somebody did something like that This War of Mine thing.
Not true. Six days in Fallujah was supposed to be a tactical shooter and was controversial because of different reasons.they did, several years ago. it was called six days in fallujah, but media shot it down for being disrespectful, the publisher for the devs pulled their funding as a result.
Beer battered fish!Shameless plug here. Marcus Beer used to do Annoyed Gamer on GT. He's since left that site - thank god - and does AG on youtube. I admittedly haven't kept up with his youtube episodes, but I'm here promoting him because he's one of the few in the industry who's willing to tell it like it is. He covers important topics and gives a balanced view while staying true to his own opinions. A rare thing. Anyway, here's an episode:
If he's still doing these, I heartily recommend him,
Well it's not like that's the only video Beer's ever done.Maybe I would watch it if it wouldn't be about the most overused topic by gaming journalists - "EA is bad".
Steam adds extra overhead of running its own client, which is not necessary for playing Witcher 2. Using DRM free GOG version you avoid any extra overhead and use your system resources for the game itself. Not sure how much is the gain exactly, but it still should be something. On a different note - does it make any sense that Witcher 2 works better on my laptop after I downloaded it from GOG, rather than from Steam? I did it on a hunch, and the FPS is much more tolerable than what it was when I originally downloaded it through Steam. It's still unpatched, if that matters. I think it is - I need to patch manually if I download from GOG, right?
Edit: Also, it could just be that I'm delusional about the FPS at this point because I'm dying to play it. But still, I'm pretty certain there's an improvement for whatever reason.
