Tropico 5 teaser trailer

It's coming out on Linux too, but not sure whether DRM-free or not. Tropico 3 is available DRM-free, but not Tropico 4 as far as I understood, so I don't know what's going on with it.

Funny how back during the days of San Andreas, I played this mod for the game called Defamation of Character where you played as Jack Thompson. I didn't know who he was then but the mod sure was fun.

just find it odd fist Jack Thompson and now Leland Yee who tried to put some kind of ban on game will wind up as a footnote

Leland Yee's advocacy of video game censorship was at least founded on a sincere belief and professional opinion (he is a child psychologist), however wrong, that violent games were harmful to children, and his comeuppance is unrelated.

Jack Thompson never was and never will be anything other than a bully and a bigot; his disbarment was for some really outrageous reactions to the dismissals of his attempts to censor video games.

Pretty easy choice which of the two I would or wouldn't want as a cellmate.

By heck, looks like Mrs Jensen's had some "enhancement" done herself.

just because he's corrupt doesn't mean he's not right about a lot of things in the game industry.

Another plug, a site called True PC gaming. Talks about tech, PC games you don't see covered on the big sites, as well as reviews which cover PC specific issues that console/mainstream reviewers usually ignore. Check it out.

Whatever happened to Dungeon and Dragon magazines? Looked for them in Smith's a few years back and they were as rare as a condom machine in Vatican. Pity the dude went so young.

Just finished Shadow Warrior and I honestly think that either an expansion or sequel is in order! That ending though I kind of saw it coming, was really well done and I suggest that if you haven't played it yet, and love the old FPS' from the 90's, you'll love this! :shuriken::ph34r::ninja:

I'm eagerly waiting for Wolfenstein because of that reason, 90s style FPS. I might even skip Dark Souls 2, not really interested in it anymore, idk why.

Yeah, Wolfenstein looks absolutely nuts (in a good way). What other game allows you to dual-wield Assault Rifles!?:2guns:
No modern one that's for sure!

So I've been playing a bit of Outlast and holy hell, it's stressful and mentally disturbing. Gives you that sheer sense of dread that I personally only felt with Amnesia, but amplified by paranoia.

I think horror games really manage to recreate a sense of terror and helplessness never before seen in other media.

So in your opinion who are W3's biggest rivals in the 2015 market?

The challenger hasn't been announced yet: I think we should wait for E3 to know that :)
(In terms of RPG, I don't think it will be Torment; if I'm confident for PoE, I'm not as convinced by Torment)

Why is that? PoE seems like more of the same to me, while Torment appears to be trying to add some cool new things to the mix. And it's Torment.

But yea, neither of those are a real threat to TW3 in terms of competition on the market.

As far as market competition goes I think TW3 will do very well and will only gain more fans since they're expanding the scope of the game in comparison to the previous Witcher games. A lot of people desire the more open approach they are taking in regard to exploration instead of being locked down to just one area for each chapter. And if they can retain the strong story elements (like they've promised to do) then I see no reason why TW3 won't be one of the top RPGs of 2015.

On the other hand, I think Sui Generis is going to be a sleeper hit once it's released. That game reminds me a lot of how The Witcher 1 was before release. Almost no one had heard of The Witcher 1 and CDPR was trying to take a new approach with RPGs. Sui Generis is doing the same thing. The devs are sick of generic, cliche RPGs and they're taking a new approach. They're adding a lot of innovation and doing things many claim to be impossible. It is exciting to have a behind the scenes look and to be a part of that creation process :)

The "combat vote" (whatever the result is) made me sceptic.
Their campaign was not as interesting, inspired and mastered as PoE campaign, in my opinion.
I'm not sure about the early access trend (done with Wasteland 2, I guess it will be the same for Torment and I hope nothing of the sort will be made available for PoE).

Just a stupid hunch, as you can see.
